Question about 2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee

A/C comes on every time I start vehicle. Not in auto mode. Even when dual climate knobs are turned to high, A/C still comes on. Why ???

Check to see that you have not depressed the AC on button its a small push in button bellow climate controls also on your temp setting turn it to the far right this is the warmest setting this will prevent auto kick in to the AC you may also turn blower knob to off This position turns off the blower motor and outside air
will not pass through any outlets.

I have a 98 bonneville se. the blower fan only comes on when the knob is all the way up and it ONLY blows heat and absolutely no cold also the air only blows out the defroster and the floor


How did you test the A/C system ? Hook up gauge manifold , test A/C pressures ? Manual or automatic climate control ? The blower motor only working on high means the blower motor resistor is bad ! Did you hook up a scan tool an check high an low pressure switchs inputs to the PCM - engine computer . Does the A/C compressor clutch engage ? turning on the compressor ? Moving the mode switch does nothing . Doesn't move from floor to vent to defrost ? Probably the mode door actuator ! Don't think the HVAC control panel is bad . Just a few little things . Pushing the A/C button on the control panel just send a electrical signal to the PCM , the PCM will energize the A/C clutch relay , turning on the compressor .

7 chevy silverado dual climate control problem


Take battery cable off for 5 mins, then put battery cable back on. Insert your key into the ignition turn to on but don't start the vehicle wait 5 seconds turn back off repeat the key on/off three times. This initiates a re calibration of climate control equipment and actuators. It will fix your problem.

I have a 2000 Dodge Intrepid 2.7L DOHC Engine - Climate Control


Might be the same....You may want to do the diagnosis proceedure. Alot of times its the door actuators. Servos in replace of old cable design. Usually it will be a code 46. DOOR BLEND ACTUATOR SHORT TO BATTERY.
The DTC's can be checked with the MTC control and the Odometer Display of the Mechanical Instrument Cluster if a DRBIII® scan tool is not available. The MTC control can only be placed into the diagnostic mode while the engine is running and the vehicle is not moving. To place the system into it's diagnostic mode, adjust the MTC control to the following settings:
  1. The engine must be running with vehicle not moving.
  2. The fan speed set to any speed except OFF.
  3. The temperature control knob in full cold (full counterclockwise position).
  4. The mode control knob must be placed in Defrost position (full clockwise position).
  5. The A/C button can be On or Off.
  6. Press and hold the rear window defogger (EBL) button until the mechanical instrument cluster odometer display indicates an "AC00". The BCM will chime once and the MTC A/C button LED will begin blinking.
  7. Release the EBL button and wait until the MTC A/C button LED stops blinking. This means that the error check and climate control door calibration is complete. NOTE: It is important that no other control knob or button is pushed until all DTC's are read. Pushing any button except the A/C button or turning a control knob will end the diagnostic test without showing the rest of the DTC's. There also may be other DTC's stored in the BCM not related to the climate control system. These DTC's can only be found using the DRBIII® scan tool.
    DTC's related to the MTC control head will appear on the odometer display in numerical form after the letters "AC". The odometer display will return to normal operation if no DTC's are found. If a problem is found, then the odometer will display the letters "A/C" followed by the DTC number. The odometer display can only show one DTC at a time. Under certain circumstances, more than one DTC could be in the memory. To scroll through any additional DTC's, press the A/C button on the MTC control. The BCM will beep each time the A/C button is pushed. Continue pushing the A/C button and recording the DTC's until the odometer returns to normal operation (note the letters AC will dissapear.

This is the first time I have heard of this problem. It's not to say it's not common. Try the salvage yard first obviously cause its cheaper. If problem presists contact the dealer for advice.

Electronics involved !
The climate control seat system is able to heat and cool the front seats. Each climate controlled seat is operated by push-buttons on the dual automatic temperature controller (EATC) located on the instrument panel. Each front seat temperature is then monitored and controlled by the dual climate control seat module (dual CCSM) located underneath the passenger front seat cushion.

Both the driver and front passenger climate controlled seats are independently controlled electronically by the dual climate controlled seat module (CCSM) mounted to the bottom of the passenger seat cushion. The climate controlled seat system only operates with the engine running, however, if using a diagnostic tool to command the dual CCSM, diagnostic testing can be carried out with the ignition switch key ON engine OFF (KOEO). The system receives power from central junction box (CJB) fuse 118 (30A) through circuit 1153 (RD/BK) feeding battery voltage into dual CCSM C3265b pins 1 and 24. If power is disconnected from either pin 1 or 24 of dual CCSM C3265b, only 1 seat will be disabled (pin 1 for driver seat, pin 24 for passenger seat), the other will remain operational. Since both climate controlled seats operate independently, if a fault occurs setting a DTC specific to either climate controlled seat, only the affected seat will be disabled by the module and the other will remain operational.

Sorry , but it would be best for you to take it to the dealer or someother qualified repair shop.
