YOU GOT 12V SYSTEM THAT USES TWO BATTERIES FOR MORE CRANKING POWER.YOUR BATTERIES ARE HOOK TOGETHER IN A PARALLEL CONNECTION.POSITIVE TO POSITIVE.NEGATIVE TO NEGATIVE.YOU STILL WILL GET 12 VOLTS WITH 2 HOOK TOGETHER.THIS WILL GIVE YOU MORE AMPS AND CRANKING POWER.PAY CLOSE ATTENTION WHEN YOU DISCONNECT BATTERY CABLES.SO YOU WILL PUT CABLES BACK IN THE SAME POSITION.UNHOOK THE NEGATIVE BATTERY FIRST.ALSO TURN OFF RADIO SO YOU WONT LOSE CODE.CHECK YOUR MANUAL IN DASH OR GLOVE COMPARTMENT IF YOU NOT SURE OF YOUR BATTERY HOOK UP IS.

I am driving a 1997 Toyota Prado 3.4 L petrol Automatic. Engine cuts out.

Hi
im assuming there are no lights on the dash.
If you remove both battery terminal wire and touch them together (Wires only)
that will reset any fault stored and reset the computer.
hopefully that will correct the fault.
Thanks

Wiring sequence schematic for two batteries

for a 24 volt system connect a wire from the negative of one battery to the positive of the other battery. Then connect the load to negative of one battery and the positive or the other battery. this is known as "series"

for a 12 volt system connect all the positive terminals together and all the negative together. This is known as parallel.

Where do wires from battery go to on 98 elantra

the positive lead has the larger terminal on it as the battery posts are different sizes. the small terminal goes on the small post and the wire runs to the engine or body as the earth .. Positive leads are coloured red while negative leads are black.

76 k5 blazer starter wiring confusion

Usually one is small enough to fit on the small terminal and the rest fit on with the battery cable.
The small purple wire from the key switch goes on the terminal marked S.
You could do a continuity test and check it with the battery disconnected by checking it back to the neutral safety switch.

Need to know how wires go back on starter for 2001 ford explorer sport

the large stud:three eights copper: is the one that the battery cable goes on. the small post 'This ford has just the one' is where the signal wire goes. If you have other smaller gauge wires that have a large ring terminal they go on the lartge lug too. Hooking up your battery. positive cable on positive terminal first. tighten it up. place negative cable on negative terminal. if you get large amounts of sparks check your cabling for chafeing or dead shorts. you may get a small spark if you have a hood light on or assesory. good luck

Drove through standing water in 2001 Ford Taurus, it stalled, and wont start. It wont even crank, nothing.

Your question states that the engine won't turn over. If that's the case, first see if you can loosen the negative or positive battery terminals by hand alone. If one or the other is loose, combined with old, maybe original plug wires, a good splashing into the engine compartment will let slip the very fine gestalt that was letting enough DC voltage to slip past the loose connection on your battery. Take the terminals off, clean the battery posts and terminals with sandpaper or steel wool, and replace the terminal tightly on the battery. If either terminal is loose, replace it new. If it was the wires, it will have started for you by now unless humidity is a constant 100%. If you have never replaced the plug wires, do that too. Less critical, but down the road when you have $35.

I am trying to replace the battery for a '97 Suzuki Sidekick. The battery terminals were so corroded, I had to cut the wire and put on some universal terminals. There are two wires for each terminal-

This happens in the shop all the time. It is not necessary to remove the alarm if you have the remote for the alarm. Simply hook the battery up and press the button to turn the alarm off.

Lights go dim then battery lights comes on then transmission light comes on already changed battery and altinator

Hello these cars were know to have a wire that runs from the positive on the battery terminal to the alternator that would corrode and cause this problem. The best way to find the problem is to remove the air cleaner box where the air filter is and then you will see the top of the battery. You will see a wire that is hooked into the positive on the battery terminal that should be green in color and if you follow it up it turns red. The green part of the wire is usually less than 6 inches. Right where the green and red wire connect together is where the problem is normally. You will probably see corrosion there. Cut the corrosion out of the wire re-splice it together and make sure any bare wires are wrapped up good with electrical tape. This should fix your problem. 4 thumbs up is appreciated if this helps.
