Question about 1990 Chevrolet K1500
You have to take the pin out of the spider gear shaft, that is the 5/16" socket head bolt being referred to. It is located on the differential and you have to locate the diff so that you can get it out, then turn the diff a bit again so you can get the shaft out. Once you get the shaft out, push in on the axles so they move away from the side gears of the diff and the c-clips come off.
