Question about 1995 Jeep Cherokee

1 Answer

Hi, presented with 1995 2.5d jeep, why should i seriously consider swopping it for my 2004 ford transit? Live in country, would need to change lights to left hand drive, also get certificate of conformity from jeep france. Whilst I'm taken by the idea....is it risky? I need reliability, space for animals. Any advice welcome. Clearly a female asking! Thanks

The first concern is that you would be getting a car 9 years older than yours. Is the vehicle mileage similar? Can you deal with the steering and other controls on the wrong side? I'd guess that the fuel mileage would be worse with the jeep. The headlight swap would be little problem. Have you looked into any parts procurement problems? Would local mechanics balk at repairing a non-French vehicle? This is a pre-OBD-2 emission specification vehicle if that matters. Being a Jeep, it may have been used roughly. If none of this matters much, go for it!

You must have the system scanned with a special scan tool to see what ABS fault codes are present and then based on those codes diagnose the problem.

My 1999 Isuzu hombre odometer not working how to fix???? Asap

if the speedo works, and odometer not then the odometer is bad.
what is VIN/ in what country, so i can look this up.
1999 are transitional year, in USA fed laws on this changed.

on old cars, the speedo cable ran both . so if one dies only
that which died is bad.
in later years, the speedo is run by ECU, from VSS inputs
and obometer is digital and stored in the ECU. (or BCM)
and the cluster is just a digital display and if its dead , then it is dead. this display.
one even newer cars, comm errors on CAN-buss can cause this.
2004 up. but you dont have this bus.
did you scan it first and check all fuses.>?
scan it to see that VSS is wrong, by live data stream, or DTC error, driving for VSS dead.
ill not post details lacking country , as other countries laws vary on ODOMETER TYPES> big time.

Hi, I just bought a used 2004 unlimited wrangler in another state and has been in various states. The vehicle is stalling after I have stopped. Does something need to be reset in the computer?

If you have lights on dash lit, I would have OBII scan done (fault scan) Autozone, Advance, etc.. do that for free. Scan would show faults tracked by your computer. Since you just purchased, I would be seriously considering a "healthy" tune-up (plugs, wires, all fluids & filters including FUEL filter) this would give you a good "ground zero" starting point with you new rig.

Jeep cherokee radiator replacement

single core, 2 core, and 3 core radiators will all cool your vehicle, but something to consider before going to a larger radiator, is whether it will provide too much cooling capacity. This could be problematic during the winter months depending on where you live. Automotive cooling systems are carefully balanced to provide good cooling during the hottest months of the year, but also keep enough heat in the system to warm your passenger cabin during winter months.

2 and 3 core radiators often are used on higher performance motors, that may be creating more heat, and therefore require more cooling capacity.

If you are indeed needing to replace your radiator, I encourage you to use one that is sized similarly to the factory unit, unless you live in an extremely hot climate. You may want to consider using a product like RedLine Water Wetter in your coolant mix with the factory radiator. You may be able to find this product in your local autoparts store. It is a surfactant, that improves the cooling systems ability to shed heat, often by as much as 30 degrees, if I recall correctly.
