I added air shocks to my 1995 lincoln town car because the air suspension bags died. what pressure should they take and do they lose air so you have to add air?

The Stock Air Bags self Leveled, your new System should have come with PAperwork or is there a Air Nozzle that you have to fill? The Bags should come with a Pressure Window for a Firmer Ride or Softer Ride.

1986 lincoln matk vii left front air spring will not lift up to level position

Have you checked all air lines, are they all tight & have the orange O-rings on them, this includes the one that goes to the top of the solenoid on the air bag that you're having the problem with, Then you might want to inspect the air bags itself, for leaks and cracks. Don't forget to turnoff the air ride system, the button is in the trunk before you jack up the car. Finally, there is a way to check the system without any special tools, just a jump wire. Let me know if you like to know how to do so.

Rear suspension collapse, can it be replaced with heavy duty springs?

The answer to your question is yes. They do sell a replacement springs for that vehicle. You may have air bags on the rear that appear to be leaking down you might check the air lines for leaks but most the time its the bags themselves that are leaking. This could get expensive replacing the bags the alternative to this is take them out and install coil springs with shocks. They sell the replacement conversion springs to your vehicle in a set the shocks will have to be purchased seperately. I did this to a lincoln town car for a customer of mine worked out well and didnt even notice a difference in the ride. Instructions will come with it and how to disable the wire so that the air suspension light will not come on.

I have a 2003 envoy where the rear end is riding realy low any ideas

I had the same problem with my '02 Envoy 4x4; had the soap test done and there were no leaks; also had the air compressor motor checked and mechanics said it was fine. The rear air bags were worn and cracked so I had them replaced. It lifted and rode at the correct ride height for a few weeks.
After having the rear air bags replaced I noticed that it was starting to not lift as before. Had another diagnostic check; the air compressor was not forcing air through the system in order to lift the vehicle. The air compressor motor was replaced. Compressor comes on and shuts off now.
Vehicle is at the normal ride height now.
Rear air bags and air compressor motor were dealership parts; unable to find after market; not recommended to replace with used parts.
I had the dealership to run the diagnostics and had another mechanic to replace the parts. Total repair for bags, motor + labor = $1500

The rear of my truck drops and the ride gets real bumpy. Also my stabilizer track light turned on saying it needs to be serviced

Hi, those have air bags (air ride) and one or both of the air bags has a hole in it and is leaking out, they have a pump that fills them up with air but when the bag goes bad the pump will fill it,then it leaks out, and back and forth. you just need to replace the faulty suspension air bag. or e-bay sells kits to eliminate the air ride and replace with springs. good luck. yz-maniac....

Air suspension won't rise

Do you hear the compressor coming on when you start the truck or a few minutes into your ride? If so, you can rule out the compressor.

Could be ride height sensors, air spring bag leaks, or a leak in the air line(s). The dealership will ROB YOU BLIND if you let them.

See if a local mechanic will detatch and clean those sensors. Sometimes they'll corrode from time and weather.

If your air spring bags are bad, just google the part and you'll find the part for around $200. Have a mechanic also check the SEALS at the top of the air spring bag. Sometimes they expand and shrink with the weather and the air escapes from the bag, causing it not to inflate as it should or not at all. It's a really cheap fix if it's only the seals.

Any mechanic can test your air lines for leaks with regular soapy water. If you have leaks, the lines are easy to replace and not expensive.

Hope this helps.

The air ride compressor comes on too often

If the compressor is constantly running you have a leak. The leak is either in the line running to the air bag or in the air bag itself. If you're lucky, it's in the line which you can determine if ou trace the lines running from the compressor while its on and listen/look for a leak. The lines run all the way to the air bags which have an electrical relief valve. It's possible the relief valve was damaged when you jacked up the truck as well. If no leak is discovered, then you've got an air bag issue and will need a technician.
Best of luck.

Typical?,,,cause of check suspension indicator light to come on?

Things that cause this are defective ride height sensor, defective air bag pump or control circuit or module, defective air bags or supply lines to the air bags. Have the system tested by a Ford dealer they can isolate the fault very quickly, all the parts are really expensive so don't guess, know gefore u replace anything in the system.
