I have 2003 rav 4, the steering went stiff and the battery light came on. We have replaced the battery today and it is still the same. I also notice the it is only blowing out cold air even though I had it...

Could be a Bad alternator, that powers everything after the vehicle is started by the battery, there are many other possible problems tho? and the heat issue would probably be unrelated ? The radiator and cooling system heat the car, if the blower motor is running properly ? Need more info....

Drove through puddle - Battery light came on, temperature gauge all the way up, cold air blowing out of vents

Sounds like it may have blown a hose and you lost all the coolant. IT could also be that the puddle you drove through caused the head gasket to blow. At any rate, this is not going to be cheap.

Suzuki ignis 2002 was making a sqealling sound then the battery light came on then temperature rose then settled again any ideas please

check drive belt . If it drives the power steering as well then it may be loose and not driving the water pump and alternator (battery light and temperature rise)/ Loose belt on power steering pump = squeal noise

Ny Nissan Xterra power steering became stiff without any sign

Check condition of pump belt and check for correct tension. Have a pressure test done on the pump to ensure correct operation

Drove through a puddle, power steering out and temp gauge on high, battery light on

I've seen it happen many times on the older Caravans, if you hit a really deep puddle, the splash can knock the accessory drive belt off of its pulleys. You can just gently pry the belt back on, consult a service manual for detailed installation directions.

Power steering went out while driving and battery

If the belt gets wet and flies off, or starts to slip, the power steering and alternator will stop spinning causing this condition.

Check belts to see if they are still on the truck and spinning the pulleys of the alternator and power steering pump.

Battery and brake fluid warning lights and steering very stiff

You may have had a belt come off. Pop the hood and check the belts. Keep an eye on the engen temp. the belt also runs the water pump.

Steering is stiff

the problem could be contamination in ps fluid.i would flush the system and replace fluid first .if that does not solve the pronlem you most likely need power steering pump. the steerjng box is very unlikely.
