Not hard at all. If you have the right tool there you go.

Try fix it yourself dear.

Good luck and rate this.

I will make myself available if you like. I can guide you through the whole process. You are going to have some issues returning the pistons to their "home" positions without the proper tools or some "tricks of the trade" I have been a mechanic now for over 20 years. Glad to help as I am semi-retired and kinda bored. lol

Both rear brake lights don't work, the third upper brake light does. Dash warning light illuminates to say brakes lights are out.

Abs light on acura 2.3 cl 98. it goes on and off. I added some acura brakefluid, now light is off.

When you drive the brake pads wear down as a normal part of driving. When they get about half worn the amount of fluid in the master cylinder will be low because it takes more to fill the wheel cyliinders. Low brake fluid causes the light to come on. This is all normal.

How do i replace brake pads frony and rear on 1997 accura cl 3.0

This is not easy. Look at the Cl brake blog by P48. You can get the rear caliper piston in the fully retracted position with a home-made tool to twist it clockwise. It is like a large "X". Make sure it is retreating into the body of the caliper which will allow the "thick" new pads to sandwich onto your (new) rotor.

98 acura cl brakes come on by themselves randomly, becoming daily problem, have new pads and rotors front and rear?

ok ....take a look at your slide pins make sure that there not frozen if this is the case than you may have to heat them to free them up..........also this could be a abs issue i would need to know if your abs light is on if so you would have to take to your local repair shop to read the codes ,,,,good luck

I was quoted $275 to replace the rear brakes on my 2005 TSX. Is that a fair price? I have about 88k miles

That is pretty high. If they replaced the pads(using ceramic pads which are top of the line) replacing rotors and rear brake hardware kit, parts should be about $120 so that means $155 for labor when the job would only take about an hour at the most.

Soft brake pedal after rotor replacement

If they rebled the brakes and the pedal goes to the floor, chances are that the master cylinder is bad. Probably cost about $80-100 for the part if you could do it yourself
