Yes P0121 means Throttle Position Sensor/ Switch A Circuit Range/ Performance Proble.

Please go ahead and replace the Throttle sensor.

That should get the car back in shape.

Good luck and remember to rate this solution.

I have a jeep cherokee limited and sometimes when I got to start it, it shakes a little and then I get a burnt smell from the engine

check that the smell is not from the o2sensor wires burning on the exhaust system. This will also give other problem indications.

I have a 1998 Jeep cherokee sport. Was driving today and it died. Now there is no spark and no power to fuel pump. Changed fuel pump today and it won't run. Recently replaced oxygen sensors too

U need to check the crankshaft position sensor. The fuel pump will only have power for 2 seconds I till it sees a crank signal. It' controls the asd relay which turns on your spark and fuel

I have a 2004 Jeep grand cherokee straight six. I replaced the TPS sensor & IAC sensor. recently experienced high idle while in park, lack of power, and engine light came on with a code of P0121? ...

Depending on the system, P0121 is Throttle/pedal position sensor/switch A circuit range/ performance problem.

Did the TPS have slotted mounting holes? If so it may need to be adjusted.

2008 Jeep Commander with 5.8l Hemi problems with instrument panel

Have shop run an OHM test on your transmission sensors -- then have them replaced and rerun the OHM test. -- it's more than likely an input speed sensor that is not working properly and telling the jeep to go into "limp mode" hence your speed isn't changing but it can't read the actual speed.

Today my 95 jeep cherokee shut off while i was driving i replaced fuel filter and it turned on but when i take off to drive it cuts back off

If it idles normally, (normal rpm and not shaking) I'd check the map sensor, throttle position sensor and coil output. I would also check fuel pump output (pressure and actual delivery) Depending upon if the filter you removed was plugged up or not, you may want to consider checking the "sock" filter in the tank as well. You can find fairly decent test procedures in any chilton or haynes manual. Don't start changing anything 'till it has been tested or it can get very expensive with no results. If it is shaking, check cap, rotor wires and vacuum hoses before anything else.

Check engine light comes on after 2 miles of driving

Possible...Check output with a good digital volt/ohm meter. Hot, running, reading should change from between .1v to 1.0v. Take readings with sensor disconnected from the harness, using connector terminal as (+) side of connection and (-) of meter to ground. On multiple wire sensors, they have an internal heating element. this part goes to the two white wires. To test heater, connect ohm meter across both terminals and read resistance. The reading should show same continuity as if you took both meter leads and held them together. Sensor produces very low voltage and therefore any dirt or water in plug connector can throw readings way off. Make sure it is clean and dry.
