hi, the problem your having could be one of a couple of things. The 1st and most likely would be the bottom ball joint needs replacing. The 2nd and less likely would be the roll bar bushes. The 3rd and less likely would be the wheel bearing itself. If their is no grinding noise whilst driving then the chances are the wheel bearing is ok so i would then look at the first 2 options. The parts for the first two are not expensive to buy but the problem is removing the old and fitting the new as it is hard work and will need special tools and a puller to get the old ones off. First you need to find out witch one has failed then go from their the best thing to do is jack the car up on the side with the problem and put it on stands. Then get a strong bar such as crow bar and place under the tyre then work this up and down putting pressure on the ball joints as if the car was driving then get someone to look at the bushes on these joints and see if their is any play either up and down or left and right if you see any movements in any of the parts then these need replacing. If you have not done this work before or you dont have the correct tools then it would be best to get someone else to do the work or go and buy an workshop manual for your car this will then give you step by step instructions and would also tell you what tools you need. Let me know how you get on or if you need further assistance ok

Check CV joint for play, tie rod ends, wheel nuts, lower ball joint, and possibly motor mount as well.

Right front tire seems to wobble, shaking. Engine area of car shaking over 55. Mech friend says it's the rotor. Worried about driving.

A bad rotor would only cause a shake when you are using the brakes. A bad tire could shake at 55mph and above.
I would get a second opinion to make sure.
The shop could rotate the tires and see if the vibration moves to a different area of the car.

Weather has been below normal and when I start off the steering wheel shakes. Periodically during a trip (usually lower speeds) it shakes. Stopped at gas station a week ago and they put air in fromt...

One tire with lower pressure will often make the car pull to one side but not usually shake.
I definitely would have both front tires checked for broken belts that can cause the tire to warp, usually causing a visible bulge or bend in the tire. Running a tire without the proper amount of air in it can overheat the inside of the tire and cause belts to fail so always keep them properly inflated.
good luck!!

Wheel is shaking....

Check the ball joints as well as the steering linkage.
If it is already loose, it needs to be replaced. Just send
your feedback thru the e-mail.

My car does the salt shaker when i press the gas pedle

Hi, the problem could be one of a couple of things the first and most likely would be the bottom ball joint this would need looking at by someone who knows what they are looking for.
The next thing it could be is roll bar bushes these would also cause the problem you are having.
Both of these problem would be dangerous if the part was to fail completely so this needs checking sooner rather than later.

As for the parts they are not expensive to buy but it can be a difficult job and would require special tools to remove the old parts and fit the new.

At 40 mph the car starts to shake. It last to 5o

I have this same car with exactly the same problem. Begins shaking at 40mph and stops shaking as soon as you let off the gas, but then begins again as soon as you press on the gas and smooths out as you get over 50. And the shaking is not felt through the steering wheel. Solution: Replace the transmission mounts. There are two of them, one on each side mounted on the frame right next to the shock strut. There is also a front and rear engine mount, but I replaced the two as described and shaking is gone.

98 mazda millenia shaking front end at 40 mph?? any clues??

try the simple solution first put your front tires on back and back tires on front. check your air pressure then take it for a drive and see if any thing has changed. if so you probably have a badly worn tire. if no change have someone move the steering wheel back and forth wyle you are under the fornt of the car (dont forget to chalk the wheels) and see if any of your steering components are loose/moving. if nothing is loose and your tires are good try to bounce the front end. if you can really get the front of the car going up and down pretty easy you havce bad struts/shocks.
