Can someone please tell me what is the correct torque specs for a hub nut on a 2001 Pontiac Grand Prix front wheel bearing assembly please! I have seen anywhere from 90-100-118-159. So what the heck is the deal, there shouldn't be so many different so called experts out there telling people what to do, if they don't know what they are doing! Just saying!

Whats torque spec on front axle nut 2002 grand Am

284 ft-lbs. I dont remember the years but there is an updated wheel bearing form some suppliers. These will have an updated torque spec. If there was not a not in the box for the new bearing than 284 is the number. The updated bearing is 173 ft-lbs. Let me know if you have any questions and I'll do my best to answer them. What causes the brake pedal pulsates occasionally when stopping the car.The car is a 2001 Pontiac Grand Prix GT and somtimes(about four times a day the brake will have a pulsating feel in the pedal along...

When you put your wheels on , most people do not realize that the wheels need to be torqued down. A lot of mechanics just use there air gun or brute force to put a wheel on a disc brake. If the bolts are over tightened or unevenly tightened the disc will warp. That is what is causing the pulsing when you brake. The only way to fix the pulse is to put on a new disc and torque the wheel correctly. Having the disc turned will only amplify the problem. You need to replace the warped disc with a new one.

Can you give me the rear wheel camber spec for a 2001 Pontiac Grand Prix, GT? I am replacing the springs and would like to check & adjust (if necessary) the camber when done.

the only way you can adjust camber is special bolts. you will need a 4 wheel alignment anyhow when you are done and the alignment shop will adjust it, if needed.

Abs and trac control lights are on

It is one of your wheel bearings. The problem is easily solved by taking the car to a dealer, or having a code reader, and determining which wheel bearing is bad. The wheel bearing is under $150 and should be installed by someone with some muscle, as the bolts are torqued from the factory extremely tight in a tight location. The wheel bearing have all of your sensors for abs built into them and if that sensor goes out your computer tells the abs and traction control to shut down, hence you get the lights on on the dash.
