Question about 1991 Isuzu Trooper

1 Answer

Hi all, Just got me an old ( 1991) Trooper 2.8 TDI (UBS55). I ordered, but am still waiting for my maintenance manual. Small things need doing up. Like the rubber fuel filling hose between filler neck and tank inlet. I ordered same from dealer here and this is what I got: a PVC flexible straight hose from 2 1/4 inch ID and 13 1/2 inch long. On the label it reads; Protector. Is this right?? If not. What should it be in stead? I thought it should be a preformed rubber hose with a bend at each end to match up with the metal pipes. I like to hear from you. Regards: Hans

Hello Hans. A protector is what you have. Something strange about the dealer giving you this because if what you asked for was a filler hose then why did they give you a hose protector. Go back with because what you asked for was correct no other name for it. Hose is hose. Hope you kept the receipt if so they gotta change it for you. Cheers

How do I find a passenger-side headlight assembly for a 1991 Isuzu Trooper II? It seems to be a popular request, but no spare parts are floating around.

You can order from the dealership and get new or order through the on-line junk yards for about 1/2 price. Just make sure you have the right part number before you do.

Hi I have an 1991 Isuzu Trooper 2.8 TD Intercooler UBS55 I need a diagram to check the vacuum hoses are connected correctly. Thank you, regards Fabio

The only vacuum line you need connected is the one that goes from the back of the alternator to the brake booster. The other line that is nice but not necessary, is from the intercooler to the top of the injection pump. The rest of the vacuum is for the two valves that are involved with the cold start up of the vehicle, and the AC.

How do your replace the oil pan gasket on 1991 Isuzu Trooper 4x4

Its pretty simple. I recommend draining all the oil out first, and then simply take out the bolts on the pan. There should be about 12 or so small ones. Take the old gasket off and I would recommend putting the new one on the oil pan and put the screws thru the holes in the gasket, put the oil pan and the new gasket onto the block and scre the nuts back on. To make it easier on you do the four corners first, and then the rest. Just make sure you dont over torque though! Let me know if you have anymore questions, let me know! Happy motoring!

My Trooper UBS55 2,8 TDI need topping up with steering oil. The filler cap states only to use DOT 3 oil. However the only bottle with DOT 3 oil I can find states that this is brake and clutch fluid. Is it...

No, do not use clutch or brake fluid in your steering.

ATF used to be used in Power Steering many Years ago, but it is very high in detergents where Modern Power Steering fluid is not so .

If you can get the correct power steering fluid this would be best (consult your owners manual),but I have seen some customers that have use ATF in there steering for years will no ill effect, but I wouldn't advise it.

Please leave fair comment if I have helped you.

Thanks
