Trailer Running lights are not working on my 2004 Ford

Running lights on my boat trailer are not working on my 2004 Ford Excursion. All other lights work fine.

First fix the shorted trailer lights, then check the owner's manual all fuse info is in the manual. If you don't have the owner's manual go to the GM owners website and download a free one there in pdf format.

You have problem with your harness/receiver plug. Your tail light wire is broken somewhere.

If these lights still work on your excursion then it is probably not a fuse problem. It sounds like it is a loose pin(s) with the trailer plug or a loose electrical connection(s) on the trailer or maybe the bulbs on the trailer are burned out. Running trailer lights not working, but brake


Did you check the fuse for the trailer tow adapter paring lamps ? This is a separate fuse powered by a relay, it is not the same circuit as the truck's parking lamps.
This is fuse # F10 & The half size ISO relay, R201 in the fuse panel in the passenger side kick panel.
This is based upon being a new body style 2004, not the 2004 Heritage or Lightning models, those are different fuse & relay locations.

TRY GROUNDING THE TRAILER TO THE TRUCK ELSEWHERE. HAD THE SAME PROBLEM, SO I GROUNDED THE TRAILER AND IT WORKED. GOOD LUCK

Back-up lights and trailer running lights


My 2004 f150 has the factory tow package. It has a fuse for the trailer running lights seperate from the truck running light fuse.
Check, you may have the same set up...
