Question about 1987 Chevrolet Cavalier 4 Door
When you hold the gas pedal down it stays running, when you let off it dies. We think it may be the Idle Air Control Valve, but we need to know where it's located. This is a 1994 Cheverolet Cavalier 2.2L.
The idle air control valve on your vehicle is located on the rear of the engine , dead center on top of the intake, directly behind the throttle body.
You'll also want to check out the TPS located on the right side ( while facing the engine ) of the throttle body mounted directly to the throttle body, as well as the MAP sensor located on the front right side( while facing the engine ) of the intake just to the right of the TPS. It looks like a little black box with a plug in the bottom.
