Question about 1993 Volvo 940

Hi, I have a 940se. I believe that i have an earth problem. when the ambiant temp is above 22deg all is normal. When the temp is below, on the dash i have only "high beam light, left indicator light, bulb warning light showing." No centre consul lights. When the left indicator is used the petrol guage, flickers in time. I have cleaned the footwell earths. the engine earths. Am told that there is an earth behind the dashboard, problem how to get the dash out and where is the earth situated?

First start by pulling the carpet down on the sides of the transmission tunnel (center hump), you'll find more grounding points.

Throttle body in front of throttle linkages/cables. IAT- Intake air temperature sensor.

Ambient Sensor (Auto A/C Model)

REMOVAL

  1. Open the front hood.
  2. Disconnect the ground cable from battery.
  3. Disconnect the ambient sensor connector
    1. Remove the ambient sensor from radiator lower panel.
    INSTALLATION

    Install in the reverse order of removal.

I have a 1999 Volkswagon Passat. The air conditioner works great at night or when the outside air temp is below 80°; it will put out 55° air. But during the day it will only put out 10°...


check to see if you have a cabin air filter and if it is dirty have it replaced at a local auto shop.. if that isnt the problem and the freon level is correct then you will have to live with it.. a/c are concidered effiectient if they cool 20* below ambiant tempature.. personally i would say have the freon level/quality checked again

the lights relay is located below the radio, you can get to the relay by removing the ash tray. the relay is red and round and is on the same panel as the fuses. Good luck

I can't change the temp. reading from celcius to regular temp.


Check the manual, you have to hold down Ambiant and the Temp Up button for 5 secs or something.
