Question about 2001 Pontiac Aztek

When you shut off ignition switch the lights stay on and we have to turn on and off a few times for them to go off. Any suggestions on a 2001 Aztek

Check your ignition switch, it possibly need a replacement.

possible bad lock tumbler or ignition switch. i would replace that first since its a fairly easy job

Did you ever find a solution to this problem? We are having the same problem but we did find that the car has a battery protection device. The lights will go out after 10 minutes of the ignition being off but this does not help with driving at night with the interior lights being on while traveling. Any suggestions?

Change oil message stays on even after repeatedly cancelling


Pontiac Aztek, Montana 2001-05 w/o (DIC) Driver Information Center; Torrent, Ascender 2006

Turn the ignition to ON, with the engine off. Fully depress and release the accelerator pedal slowly three times within five seconds. Turn the key to OFF If the CHANGE ENGINE OIL’ message comes back on when you start your vehicle, the engine oil life system has not reset. Repeat the procedure.

Pontiac Aztek, Montana 2001-06 wI (DIC) Driver Information Center

urn the ignition to ON, with the engine off. Press the MODE button until the DIC reads ‘OIL LIFE LEFT/HOLD SET TO RESET Press and hold the SET button until 100% is displayed. You will hear three chimes and the “CHANGE ENGINE OIL” message will go off. Turn the key to OFF. If the “CHANGE ENGINE OIL” message comes back on when you start your vehicle, the engine oil life system has not reset. Repeat the procedure.

I WANT TO REMOVE THE IGNITION FROM MY 2001 AZTEK


if the key gets stuck ensure that it is not caused by the steering wheel not locking up usually pops off and snapps back in check for screws underneath the steering column
