The GMC Yukon has the fuel pump located inside the fuel tank. The fuel tank must be removed to gain access to the pump

My 1989 Oldsmobile 98 won't start when its cold outside.

Check fuel pump pressure and the fuel pump relay . On your vehicle the oil pressure switch will allow the vehicle to start if fuel pump relay fails . The problem with this is oil when cold doesn't flow very well and could take sometime to reach 4-6 PSI to close contacts inside . Watch this video on Fuel Pump Electrical Circuits Description and Operation ! When it get's to GM vehicles . Your OLDS is a GM vehicle , if you are not aware of it . Fuel Pump Electrical Circuits Description and Operation First he explains Chrysler, dodge , jeep then ford , then GM ! Start at 14 min. 50 sec.

My car seems to have some sort of glitch in the fuel system. periodically the car just wont start because it isn't getting fuel pump changed relay replaced and it still happens without warning.

How do you know it's not getting fuel ? Did you use a fuel pressure gauge an test pressure ? You replace fuel pump or just fuel pump relay ? Watch this video on testing GM fuel pump electrical circuit ! GM Fuel Pump Relay Testing

Changed fuel pump oil pressure keeps going to 0 put in new oil sensor same oil pressure no problem before pump

Jeff, you or somebody else will have to hook up a external oil pressure Gage and verify oil pressure OK, before you have a catastrophic engine failure.

Hi Kenneth, Have the fuel pump output pressure checked. The pressure at the test point should be more than three bar (+43 lbs per square inch) A gentle trickle is not enough, it should be a fountain! (Always wear safety googles before testing) Make sure you've connected the delivery and return pipes correctly and the pipes are not crimped or bent causing a restriction. If all is okay maybe replace the pump again. Regards John

Fuel pump not working

GM doesn't use a fuel pump reset button, that is Ford and Mazda (owned by Ford). GM pumps are protected by a low oil pressure cutoff switch o the engine near the oil filter (most GM engines used in this model)..

Fuel pump keep going out in my 2002 isuzu rodeo

check the relay, it could be stuck in the closed position causing the pump to run 100% of the time the key is on. it should shut off when the fuel pressure is at operating range. like a well pump on a house, it needs to start and stop with the pressure difference. if it runs continuously it will burn up fast.

Fuel pump failure

Has the power supply been checked as constant and spike free?Have you opened up the pump to determine exactly why it failed as that would give you an area to explore. Also make sure the pressure relief valve is working at the fuel rail correctly.check that fuel return line is free and clear

Doesn't start only turns over

Sometimes a defective Fuel Pump will run and operate as normal and give you the correct pressures before start up, but can't work fast enough to keep up with the demands of a starting, or running engine. Engine's take a high demand on fuel for startup, its a short period, but a high demand nevertheless.

My opinion is that your Fuel Pump is faulty, Not completely broken, just unable to keep up with fuel demands. Try replacing your Fuel Pump, and while you're at it, be sure to check the lines in the Gas Tank itself for frays, holes, or rips. As that can actually cause the problem too, but is VERY easy to over-look it, as fuel can squirt out of a pinhole at 60psi
