2001 Caravan 3.3 FLEX FUEL: Fuel pressure is at 60psi. Specs I have say it should be at 49psi. I have replaced the fuel pump and attached fuel pressure regulator with new oem part. I have changed the fuel rail and attached regulator and one fuel injector with new oem parts. The dealer has recently replaced the fuel vapor canister and fuel solenoid with new oem parts.

o2 sensors have all been replaced within the last year. this problem just started a few days ago when I accelerated rapidly but I have noticed that my gas mileage has been terrible, lately. Also, I have E85 in it, right now. Is the fuel pressure supposed to increase when running E85? I know that a higher volume of E85 has to be delivered to the cylinders, than gasoline during operation. Does the onboard computer control fuel pressure? I thought it was controlled by vacuum.

You have more than the O2 you have the mixture sensors, etc., if you are using gas more than usual that mean the mixture sensor. How many miles you did since you replaced the O2? let me know if that work if not we go to the next step. Please see that grant me your approvals by rating my service and I hope that I can serve you again the future. I will work with you in this issue to conclusion

I have a 2001 dodge durango 4.7l 8cyl. that shuts off on idle sometimes

Sounds like a weak fuel pump.Check your fuel pressure and if its within specs then replace fuel pump and fuel filter.I think it should be 44-54 psi.Get a repair manual to make sure you have the right specs.

How do i change fuel filter

2002 Dodge Caravan

Fuel Filter Replacement Procedure

1. The fuel filter is located on top of the fuel tank near the fuel pump module. Fuel lines are permanently attached to filter assembly and must be replaced with the fuel filter.

2. Release pressure from fuel system by removing the fuel pump relay and start the engine and let it die. Crank the engine a couple times after it dies to relieve more of the fuel pressure

3. Disconnect negative battery cable

4. Raise and support vehicle

5. Support fuel tank with transmission jack or floor jack with large plywood board to evenly distribute the weight of the fuel tank. NOTE: It is important to distribute weight evenly to prevent damage to the fuel pump module.

6. Disconnect ground strap from fuel tank

7. Remove inboard fuel tank straps and front "T" strap fastener

8. Lower the fuel tank approximately 6 inches to access the fuel filter assembly.

9. Disconnect the fuel lines at the fuel supply connector and the fuel pump module

10. Remove the retaining bolt and remove filter assembly from vehicle.

11. Reverse removal procedure to install (Don't forget to put the fuel pump relay back )

1993 dodge caravan 3.3 v6 on days when outside temps are higher than 70 degrees after driving for a while if rpm's get below say 1200 car will stall out and after 20 mins. it will restart but will stall...

What does it do, if you try to accelerate when this starts to happen? If it dies, sputters or is sluggish, I'd start by changing fuel filter, and if that doesn't help, have fuel pressure tested when (if at all possible) this begins to happen. Had similar problem, winter was fine, hot weather it would die, and restart after 20 minutes or so, then go a fair distance again, then same thing. Fuel pump was on it's way out and when it got hot, fuel pressure would drop. First thing in the morning when fuel in tank and pump was cool, ran like a charm, but on way home from work, after sitting on a hot day, fuel got warm/hot, and pump heated up and that's when it started. Carried a fuel pressure gauge with me. Fuel pressure when cool, was 49 psi, and when it got hot, eventually dropped off to 2 psi. Sat for 20 minutes, jumped back up to 49psi, took off for home, then would eventually get lower and die again. Changed pump and filter, all was well. Try filter first, you have nothing to lose, and it should be changed if pump replaced later anyway.

96s10 starting problems replaced throdle position sensor, fuelpump relay,no start shot of starting fluid fires right up and runs

Check the fuel pressure at the shredder valve. You should have 60psi to 65psi with the fuel pump primed and engine not running. Once the engine has been started, there should be a 5psi drop. Make sure the fuel filter has been replaced and that the fuel pump is making at least 60psi. Anything less or more then 65psi will not activate the fuel injectors, the other thing to is that the spider injection system on the vortec are know to go bad and you may have to replace the system. Good luck and keep me posted, be glad to help you get your S-10 running 100% again.

Car wants to start but dies immediately. fuel pressure test bad

Couple of things, the fuel pressure held before with the old regulator but now it doesn't. Are you sure you got the tiny o-ring out when you changed it and installed it on the new one? Is there any fuel in the vacuum line to the regulator? Does the white exhaust smell like fuel or coolant burning?
