quad posted in 17 minutes flat. now that is impatient.
and , worse no MPG stated. or liters /100km.???
nor if its city or highway. MPG.
nor engine option, (mines a 2.5L tuned to max)
btw , my 2.5L H25 gets 19 mpg best case.
mine has a MPG gauge. i designed,
the engine is too big and car too heavy (comprared to gen 1 or gen 2 vitara's) so sucks fuel.
the 2.0L I-4 does better but not by much.
there are not many adjustments there to increase mpg, the engine needs to run smoothly, properly, as running it too lean will make it oerform poorly, and damage engine. best to adjust driving style, maintaining vehicle, and proper tire pressure to attain better milage,
You could put in a turbo or increase air flow.
You could buy an aftermarket ecu which is tuned for performance.
You could also get a machinist to make the cylinder bores bigger and put in bigger pistons etc but this may be expensive.
Or replace the engine.
The gizmo's that claim to increase your mileage do not work , you might as well hire a witch to cast a spell on your car. The best way to increase mileage is to make sure tire pressures are correct , remove any excess weight (junk) from the trunk , and practice economy driving habits. No quick starts etc.
buy gaskets deffinatly. but no, no reprogramming required. However i do suggest a SUPER CHIP, its a piggy back tool that remaps the fuel and air intake for modified trucks to save MPG and/or increase Horsepower and Tourqe. If you are just installing headers, make sure to tighten the bolts going from the middle of the exhaust manifold(headers) outwords, keeping the tourqe the same on each bolt. otherwise you could lose compression and send a piston flying through your block.
Get an Altima. With all the horse power of the Maxima, not much else can be done but to putter around like an old woman. Could try a K&N filter for maybe a .5-1 mpg increase.
fuel econ can be increased by 3-5 mpg by installing a torque converter lock up control gale banks makes a great one but there are others
short bursts of added power can be added by a propane injection system there's a bunch of mfg's of these just google it and you'll see
these are the lowest cost things i know of
of course for more money there are belt driven blower kits you can add
these add 20 to 100 hp and can cost 1200 to 4500 bucks depending on what kit you want
Ohh and another way low cost way to increase both MPG and Power is to increase your exaust pipe size to 4 inches Plus++++ but be carefull
ck your local laws about mod pipes on trucks there not legal everywhere
