The handle you replaced is a dual action. It should have two linkage arms. 1 coming down from the top & one coming up from the bottom. Sometimes the little plastic keepers that the rods snap into that hold them on to the handle become worn out. Hopefully replace the lower keeper. They may look ok, but it is a very small tolerance.
remove seat belt bolts and pull it out. the rest is just held in with tabs.
..or if you want Forget taking the door apart - just remove the two bolts
holding the latch assembly to the door - Pull the latch assembly out
far enough to see the pin that goes through the broken handle - drive
the pin out far enough to remove the handle - insert new handle that
you just removed from the replacement latch assembly - drive pin back
in - Throw the rest of the replacement kit away since all that was
broken was a tab on the handle you just replaced.
You need to take inside door panel off This just clips on but there are screws in armrest and inside door handle look for any other small square covers that may hide screws Lift panel up Make sure window is up Disconnect wiring from panel and you can now get at door handle linkage and bolts
Remove screw from inside door grab handle. Remove door panel by carefully prying out plastic clips. Drill or chisel off pop rivets holding the handle on. Pull handle out far enough to disconnect linkage and remove handle. Install new handle and secure to metal panel with new pop rivets or sheet metal screws. It may be easier to reconnect linkages by removing the metal panel also.
You have to open the Window all the way And I Assume your looking Down Threw the Glass opening to View the Linkage,
their is a Spring for the Return of the latch, While looking at the Latching system, Look for the Spring that When you "Try" to open the Door it's Suppose to Compress, Most likely the Spring is Not Fully Releasing,
You may try WD40, And work the handles for a few mins and Then Try to Unlock the door for it to open, OR you can Try a LONG Screw drive to Slide the Spring to fully Non compressed state and then Make sure the Door Lock is in the Open State before you try the handles..
