What do i need to change a front crankshaft seal on a 3.2 L 2000 dodge intrepid? I heard you need a special tool that i dont have.

Hi, you will need a vibration damper puller and a seal remover. You can rent these or possibly borrow them from Autozone. The seal can usually actually be removed with a screwdriver. If you have an automatic transmission, you will also need a way to lock the engine while removing the big bolt holding the vibration damper/crank pulley on. You can always do this by removing the starter and locking the flexplate with vicegrips or screwdrivers, but some procedures call for a special tool. Please let me know if you have more questions, and thanks for using FixYa.

Well that problem could also be the starter itself sticking.

But no No special tools are required to change out the lock set, you just need to take off the plastic around the steering column and remove the lock cylinder.

You might need wire strippers and crimpers though

no special tools needed use a 1/2 inch or a 9/16 wrench for bolts but rule # 1 before you work on any electrical parts on your truck is to disconnect the negative terminal on the battery then take the starter off you 2 blots holding the starter to the engine take them off they maybe a little tight you my have use a little muscle once you take them out pull out the starter then you have to unscrew the cables use the same procedure to install I hope this information is of use GOOD LUCK

Starter for 94 Cadillac El Dorado, I think.

I don't think you need a battery. Check the battery terminals for corrosion and make sure that they are snug. The clicking sound you hear is the lack of voltage going to the starter solenoid. This could be attributed to a poor connection of a wire, or a starter relay in the fuse panel. There are no special tools required to remove the starter but you can have it bench tested at any Advanced Auto Parts free of charge. Good luck
