Take plug,wire,coil and swap with another cylinder if still #5 missing could be head gasket or intake gasket leaking could also be fuel delivery problem

cylinder 2&3 misfiring, inspect plugs if ok, mark and swap coil packs for known good ones clear codes, run eng brake torque it rev to cause missfire, repeat until check eng, lite comes on, recheck codes if changed cylinders replace coil packs if not, you have two bad injectors.

Hesataion i have replaced fuel filter spark plugs wires coil ingnation cam shaft sensor on the codes it keeps reading cylinder 3 missfire


you could have mechanical issues with cylinder #3 or a fuel injector not firing on #3 or a intake gasket leaking @#3 mechanical issues could be low compresion ,broken valve spring ,burnt valve and so on i would lean to the injector have seen this numerous times

Changed intake gasket and now it won't start. It just spins like it is out of time. I replaced the timing set and it still acts the same. It is a 98 Grand Prix with a 3800 series 2 vin K


So did you replace the timing set first, or after ,it would not start after the intake was replaced. Replacing just the intake would not alter the timing components. The intake is a pretty straight forward job. Does the engine have spark? fuel pressure? The injectors should have power on one side with the key on,check one do they? All wires connected to ign coils? ground wires hooked up? Does the CK. ENG light come on with key on? have ALL fuses been checked?

Misfire #3 cylinder


Has anyone found the problem? My 2003 has #3 cyclinder misfire and I have replaced the plugs and wires. It runs rough at idle but smooths out at highway speed. Anyone have any knowledge on this? This sounds like a common problem.

misfire :-------- try checking your 02 sensors /fuel pump and filter.

for 51 cylinder misfire :---
Change the coil. Period. Very easy to remove from the vehicle if it's a 4 cyl. Follow that spark plug wire from the spark plug to the other end. What it's attached to you should replace
for 54 cylinder 5 misfire :---First you have to eliminate the most obvious problems, like spark plug and spark plug wire. If you replace those and you still have a misfire, then it's a good idea to look for a vacuum leak in the intake manifold

99 5.2 durango :pulled codes for multipe missfire cylinder #5-7


Aloha We have just replaced all of what you have replaced, plus water pump, fuel pump, pcv valve and 02 sensor. Took it to mechanic today we had misfire on 1,2,6,7. Mechanic said that the 99 dodge is known for bad computers, he checked ours and works great turns out that it was the coil. Ours was jumping 1/4 inch and had a orange/yellow spark. it is supposed to have a 1 inch spark and be blue. This has solved our problems after 527 dollars later.
Check the coil!

I am getting a misfire on cylinder #5, I have changed the coil, wire and spark plug but still get the misfire error code 0305 on cylinder 5 all the time. Runs pretty rough too. I have the same...

EQUIPPED WITH 3.4L (RPO LA1 - VIN E) OR 3.8L (RPO L36 - VIN K) V6 ENGINE

Condition
Some customers of 2001-02 Chevrolet Impala, Monte Carlo; Pontiac Grand Prix; and Buick Regal model vehicles, equipped with a 3.4L (RPO LA1 - VIN E) or 3.8L (RPO L36 - VIN K) V6 engine, may experience a condition where the vehicle exhaust catalytic converter is replaced due to complaints of lack of power or illumination of the Malfunction Indicator Lamp (MIL). This may be due to the front endcone insulation from the catalytic converter breaking away and blocking the front of the first catalyst brick and preventing the free flow of exhaust gas through the converter.
Special Policy Adjustment
This special policy covers the condition described above for a period of 10 years or 120,000 miles (190,000 km), whichever occurs first, from the date the vehicle was originally placed in service, regardless of ownership. The repairs will be made at no charge to the customer.
For vehicles covered by Vehicle Service Contracts, all eligible claims with repair orders on or after September 15, 2005 are covered by this special policy and must be submitted using the labor operation codes provided with this bulletin. Claims with repair orders prior to September 15, 2005 must be submitted to the Service Contract provider.
