1989 dodge colt (non-turbo). after degreasing engine several years ago, only runs on 3, 2, or 1 cylinder, or not at all. each time i try to start (weeks or months apart), get different result.
Try removeing the distributor cap and dry up any liquid under the cap and on the inside of the distributor. Blowing it off with air pressure and or use paper towels.If it has points carefully clean and dry the gap.

After looking at the Diagrams, if you are having a problem with locating the marks on the Cam Sprocket LOOK at the Camshaft Key location at the center of the Camshaft Sprocket Bolt in relation to where the Mark should be. The information you gave gives the impression that the head gasket has gone bad and the engine needs to be rebuilt. You can just replace the head gasket, but that's just a quick fix for now. The antifreeze mixed with the engine oil is bad, Antifreeze is very corrosive to the main crank shaft bearing and most likely need to be addressed. At this point might as well go through the whole engine since it's apart. Sorry for the bad news friend.
