Check you owners manual. You can visually check it. If you see cracks in the belt, it's time to change it. Remember to look at both sides of the belt.

Car runs hot when driven but fine while idling. Replaced radiator, hoses, thermostat

You would probably be better off replacing the belt and pump again since the labor would be next to nothing.
I would want to test the cooling system for exhaust gas and try to verify the head gasket is actually leaking next.
Are you loosing coolant into the cylinders ? There may be something else causing the engine to run hot such as exhaust problems.

Timing belt runs ruff. when it gets hot it stops

The ruff noise you have on the timing belt shows the belt quality, which is better to change the belt with a recommended by the manufacturer, for better results and more protection and safety.

Can you ptease tell me the correct interval for timing belt change on my 2007 2.3 ducato based motorhome many thanks in anticipation Chris Capmer

strong old belt on these motors its a big thick thing anyway 80000miles is the recomended interval but they will run for at least 100,000 with no problem but as its a camper van and not used every day then change at 5 yrs old regardless if in a hot dry climate and 7 yrs if in the Uk with teh cold and damp as they last longer in these conditions compared to a hot dry climate like spain ,although they do corrode the bodywork quicker in the Uk though

How often should timing belt be changed?

hi, dear friend, timing belts should be changed every 50,000 to 75,000 miles, depending on driving conditions. For example, vehicles driven under extreme conditions, such as in excessively hot or humid weather, dusty environments, or racing or emergency vehicle operations. On 2004 Chrysler Serbing to change the timing belt at 90,000.

Engine wants to run hot, especially when the air is running. Changed the thermostat and it does the same thing. Just have flushed the system out, took the thermostat out, and it still gets hot.

A loose belt can cause an engine to run hot. Such as the tensioner not keeping tension on the belt causing the belt to slip preventing the water pump to turn correct. Also the overflow tank cap can cause a engine to overheat. Have the cap pressure tested. Which is usually free at your local parts store.

When to change timing belt on 2004 honda civic

Honda reccomends timing belt change at 100k. Most Honda dealers like you to change the belt at 90,000 miles (90k). some auto repair places will want to change the belt at 60k but that is not necessary (Note: if in a severe cold or hot climate like florida or canada you would change the belt before 90k or if the belt is over 7 years old.. Good luck:

Running hot

Check the Tension on the Belt. If it is not tight enough or you need a New Tensioner for the Belt, It will run hot. It is not letting the Water Pump Cool the Motor fast enough. You might also Check the Radiator. If the Radiator is Even a Little Clogged, It will overheat. Also, Check the Fan clutch, If it is not working Properly, You will overheat. Let me know what you find!
