it might be the switch but chances are the motor is shorting inside when u are trying to put window up . so you will probably have to replace the motor/regulator assy

The enginr dors not shutout, the windows do not open, the flashers do not work, the trunk stays locked, the doors do not lock all together, the roof trap does not open, and the battery red light on the board...

for one thing, you have a vacuum leak. this is causing the locks and engine shut down issue. start by disconnecting the vacuum tube that goes from the engine compartment through the firewall to the inside of the car (drivers side near brake booster/reservoir). disconnect and cap the engine side and tape to make an airtight seal. now, if the engine shuts down with the key, the leak is inside the car somewhere. to isolate inside the car, disconnect vacuum at each door 1 at a time and see if the other locks work. If you get this far, remember, you have to hook up the vacuum tube you capped in the engine compartment.

Car stalls while driving.. starts right up but shuts off i start it hit the gas and engine tries to rev up but hesites alot then shuts off

Ford vehicles have an auto shut-down switch. The switch is in the trunk. If a Ford is hit with enough force or if the car rolls over in an accident, the switch is triggered and it shuts off the vehicle. This is to prevent fuel from continuing to flow to the engine, possibly causing a fire. If you were hit in the rear and the car will not start, look for the shut-down switch in the trunk. It is usually on the driver's side under the carpet.

Chrysler sebring trunk lock wont latch and stay shut and locked

On the Sebring, there is a small switch on the trunk where it latches. Right in the middle, there is a small button you can push, which will allow the trunk door to shut. It just needs reset. Right where it goes down to lock at.

My trunk warning light on the dash isn't going off. I pulled the back seat down to see into the trunk and the trunk light also isn't turning off. It seems to be latching and the switch itself, will shut...

I know this is an old thread but I just had the same problem with my 2005 Optima. The trunk lid that contains the latcfh assembly wears down a bit after age. To fix this issue you need to remove the trunk switch and add a couple of small plastic or rubber washer under the switch. Should take about 10 minutes and costs less than a dollar.

When you take the switch out you will probably find some corrosion on the metal contacts. Now is a perfect time to clean it all up before putting the switch back in.

The sunroof on my 2002 VW Golf is stuck in a slightly open position (about 1 inch open). It goes back to this position no matter what the sunroof switch is pointing to. How can I get it to close/work...

try this first (cheapest remedy first) open the sunroof fully take key out of ignition shut all doors then put the key in drivers door and hold key over 30 secs to unlock car(windows will go down)then wait 30 secs.then put key back in drivers door and hold key over 30 secs to lock car, windows will go up and the sunroof will close.if the sunroof does not shut properly then we start with motor park switch.....

Car window goes down but roof not comeing down.

ok guys here we go first let me started out by saying this.the orther nite i try opening up my top the window goes down and i hair a noise coming from the trunk, the next day i took the panels off from the trunk, man thats alot of screw youu got to take off to get to the pump area. the first thing i notice was the emty oil tank, so i add some jack oil to it, while going back up with every thing i broke the track but that was not a problem, there is a small switch at the rite side of the track, i took a small paper clip and short it closed and thats how l slvoed my problem.

Fuel pump not working

There is a starter relay that will cut fuel of if the vehicle is not getting spark. Do you have spark at the plugs? If so there is also a fuel cut off relay that is in the trunk of car. You just have to push this to reset it. The one in the trunk is for safety and is pretty common for it to shut fuel off because it thinks the car has been in an accident. I would start with the trunk relay first because I have seen them activate at wierd times( big hills, bumpy roads, and hitting curbs).
