I have a 95 talon that does not always start and then 3 or so hours later will start. I had it jumped and drove 5 min tops and they said it could be alternator but that I had a fully charged battery. I also notice that my interior lights do not work all the time. The theft/engine chip thingy light does not always work when the car wont start. any ideas

You will probably have a fully charged battery when it is left to sit for awhile and allowed to slowly recharge.....most batteries are designed to recharge a little after they have been drained down after about 30 to 40 minutes (if its a good battery)!...if your battery is more than three years old, i"d change that first...but if your car has over 100K miles and the alternator has never been changed... i would say that that's the likely culprit! especially if the engine has been spray cleaned a lot. but check for a loose (Serpentine) belt first... if it's real loose, you"ll never charge the battery could also just as quickly check the battery post for loose or corroded connections... and you only "test" a battery for load amps.. not your next battery with as much cold cranking amps as you can afford.. 600-900amps! will say on the info label. If your ever in the snow, you"ll wish you had those extra amps!

You need to do an OBD2 engine control module fault code test to see if the fault is recorded in the memory of the computer control module. Autozone and others do this testing for free.

Van took a few tries to start. Then once off nothing worked.

Might be time for a tune up?

Does your car have a anti-theft system that uses a resistor in the key? I have had several instances when I tried to start the my '95 GM auto, runs perfect normally, but nothing. I traced it back to the key. Probably not always put in correctly.

1994 eagle talon sumerged in water

I drove my 95 Talon into flood water too, so bad it came in the doors and everything. It took a night of effort but she finally started back up. Make sure you dry out your air filter and that there is no water in your intake parts or throttle body that is getting sucked into the engine. Press accelerator to the floor and hold it there, crank the engine until she spits that **** out and starts. I've helped a few people out with this and always came back with a running car in the end.

Wont always start

Did anyone check the clutch interlock switch? It's possible the position is out of adjustment. My 2008 SRT4 is right at the bottom. If you don't push the clutch ALL the way down, it won't start.
