I have a test light and long wire. Send diagram by email (it used to receive faxes too) just copy-paste into email:

Yes, i changed filter, checked fuse..., looked for relay in fuse case..., looking for $250 electric pump, and looking for $170 fuel pump in the gas tank... which one is dead?

It stopped after installing a new battery, alternator, and starter. Then all the power went to the electric fuel pump and killed it! Or?

Okay well lets start with all the info for the car with no fuel pump. year make model sub model size of engine and what emissions system it has. califoria or fedral that can be found under the under side of the hood or on the radiator support.

i myself all ways start at the fuses and then work my way back and the next in line would be the fuel pump relay and then the fuel pump.

but because there are so many different ways the car was built i need to know everything on the car to help you the right way and get it right the first time! let me know a.s.a.p ad i will get to work on the wires you need to test and what coor they are nd also if you ve a fax i can send you the daigrams so it will be easier. but this is a simple system for the most part. do you have a test light?

Ran out of gas out gas back in wont start wont?

you haven't mentioned what make or model of vehicle
you will have to check that the pump is actually working as some fuel pumps have small plastic gears as the pump and when run out of fuel these gears have no lubrication and so melt in the case

More than not its the ign module in the distributer.. this is the way they fail.. 2. the fuel pump on these cars are a problem too.The fuel pump is in the fuel tank. go to the rear of the car in a quiet area have someone just turn the key to on, not trying to start the engine. if the fuel pump runs it will run for about 1.5 seconds and you should be able to hear it .. it will be a buzzing noise. the relay just turns the pump on for a short time to charge the system then when the engine starts the relay via the computer turns the fuel pump on to supply the injectors. The reset is a cable is in the trunk of the car on the rear right side. it has a plastic tag on it for identification. The problem could be a clogged fuel filter.. mounted just in front of the tank under the car. If the IGN module is out there will be no spark.. check that before you start removing the tank.. I just bought a pump, a filter and an ign module for that car from best prices anywhere. Pump was 1/4 of what autozone wanted for it !!

Cranks no start

There is a lot of types of starting fluid. Some is kind of safe....kind of!! Most will destroy your engine!! If you are using starting fluid on a Saturn, you really need to stop. Your fuel pressure could be incorrect. The fuel pump relay could be bad, or a fuse. Your fuel pump may be going out. Listen to your fuel pump when you turn the key to the "run" position before turning the starter over. You shoulh hear a 2 second buzz from the fuel pump. If you don't hear this , you have a fuel pump issue.

Cant hear fuel pump when really cold and wont start

I think I would try a new fuel pump relay. If it works, should be a cheap fix. If dealer's price is outrageous, try Napa or even a used one.

How do i find out about my fuel injection on a 1988 fox. The car

Your volkswagen has an external fuel pump under the car near the tank... the filter shold also be mounted there... They are on a timer, they will actuate during engine cranking... Have someone crank the engine (as in trying to start it) and you should be able to hear the pump operate... if it doesn't , check for power with a test light... the polarity is typically marked on bosch pumps... if you have power, and no pump sound.... u need a pump. CIS injection systems turn to **** when they sit a long time, drain the tank (alot of german cars have drain plugs, or take the hose at the pump off and put fresh fuel in it...

I had that problem, fuel pump relay, after driving 10 minutes or more .Check to see how hot your fuel pump relay is. It is located in your fuse block. Under dash left side. 2 large relays in centre, 2 small outer, it is the large one on the right. after driving touch it and if it burns the tip of your finger, mine did i replaced it and now it starts every time.

Wont start

when you turn the key to the ON position you should hear your electric fuel pump come on (a quiet hissing noise) if you dont hear this noise your fuel pump has gone out, if you do hear the noise you might want to check your fuel filter it could be clogged and starving the engine of fuel
