The air bag module is under the heater core. If your heater core leaks onto that "blue box" it will smoke like mad.

Heater core would be steam, and smell, and even taste sweet if you were to breath in through your mouth, and most likely leaving a wet spot on the passanger side floorboard or a puddle under the car on the passanger side. Don't however mistake this for the condensation that drips out from running the A.C. one will be clear like water and the other colored and sweet tasting. If this is smoke, and for sure smoke by sight and smell, you must for your saftey and those on the road get this to a shop and have repaired right away. I don't care if your air bag is working or not. The possibility of your car breaking out onto flames from an electrical fire while driving is just to great.

Not sure from your description but a blow fuse usualy means a short in your electrical system and replacing the fuse repeatedly can cause more damage and a fire CAUTION. if airbag lite flashes it could be part of the short circuit. Sugest to take to a profesional as diy coud cost more than to get it look at by someone with the tooling and know how.

White smoke coming out of vents

i don't think it's a good idea to inhale that white smoke, whatever fluid inside the A/C is poisonous, get your AC fixed immediately. From what I can gather the evaporator inside your compartment leaks fluid and the heater core and fan blows it up your nose. I could be wrong but if that white smoke is the same as what comes out of the receiver dryer then it is quite dangerous.

I have a 2002 Ford Escort ZX2. It only blows cold air when the heater is turned on. I am assuming since it is blowing air, it must be something with the heater core. I hear this is a pretty big job and...

Low coolant will cause this issue as well. You can check the heater core by letting the engine warm up and then feel the hoses going into the heater core to see if they are hot. If they are both hot, then you have circulation to the core. Another cause, besides low coolant, could be the trap door that shunts air from the core to the vents could be stuck. If you do have to replace the core, you have to remove the dash from the car to do so.

Airbag dashboard light keeps blinking. In 1997 Ford Thunderbird.

The air bag computer will have to be scanned and the code read to know what the fault the computer detects. The problem will have to be repaired for the light to shut off. Keep in mind, when the air bag light is illuminated the air bag system is deactivated. Meaning, in the event of a collision the bags won't deploy.

2000 ford escort therostat not working right

Replace the thermostat first. Make sure the antifreeze level is full. Bleed the system. most car's have a bleeder valve located at the thermostat housing outlet.Drain the coolant level only to below the thermostat where it won't leak when removing the housing and thermostat. If it's the heater core it is located under the dash where the 2 heater hoses enter the cab from the engine compartment.

Air bag light

You can have the airbag light tested for the trouble code that is making the light blink, the most likely cause is the rotating contact that connects the steering wheel airbag to the steering column wiring, it is called the clock-spring contact, if you replace this part yourself make sure to follow factory procedures for disarming the airbag, if you don't and it goes off you will have a good chance of being injured or worse.

hi sounds like heater core problem.if you remove the panel that comes from under the dash to the gear shift you will see the heater box in front ,now remove the bottom of that box you should see the heater radiatior.now comes the harder part from under the car at the back engine on the bulkhead two pipes goin into the bulkhead .take these pipes off and the clip so that you can remove the small radiator out of the heater box to replace.
