Question about 2002 Bentley Azure

Open Question

Intermitently the push button for the starter fails. Everything in the car starts but nothing happens when the button is pushed. Sometimes I can play with the shift lever and the car starts. I wish it would fail completely so I can trouble shoot the problem. The neutral saftey switch is positioned properly and working well. What else could be the problem. I have the same problem on my 2000 2 door continental. What gives?

Sometimes when I go to start the car and push the button, nothing happens

There Is a known problem with the push button start switch, Toyota has a service bulletin on this, see your Toyota dealer, it may still be covered under warranty.

I have a 2006 is250 lexus push button start and it only starts sometimes....radio, lights, nav everything works but it won't crank....takes 3-4 times before it cranks and it doesn't happen eve

The first thing you want to check for is the brake signal, without this signal it will not crank, this is the easy one make sure you get brake light, the second is to have the starter tested by a direct method, this gives the indication of the health of the starter

Problems starting bmw with push start button

It may be corrosion; If you hear a louder "click" it may be the contact on the starter solenoid down on the starter. If this is a recent development, this is a likely cause.

it is less likely but still remotely possible the push button itself has corrosion issues, or there is enough debris to insulate the contacts electically.

I turn the key nothing happens? I have new battery, I put in a new starter, all the lights and bells work. The starter has been tested it'"s new. I changed ignition relayy switch still nothing It...

I have a 93 pathfinder SE 4X4 automatic transmission that had full power, new starter and battery. Sometimes it will start and sometimes not. By passed starter relay by adding push button start and it started 6-8 times then nothing. I finally figured out that it was the neutral safety or inhibitor switch on the 4 wheel drive shifter. Just an idea..good luck

Truck wont start at the starter switch sometimes. I turn the key and nothing happens. I can go to the sylinoid (bad spelling) and start it with a screw driver

Probably a bad ignition key contact (worn out).
You can hook a pushbutton across the + to key wire terminal... the start it like an old fashened car (turn on the key and push the starter button....when the ignition contact fails to "make".

I have nissan altima 1997. It does not at all crank. It starts when pushed. I changed the battery.

I'm guessing that you have a manual transmission since you said it starts when pushed. Your best bet would be to check your neutral safety switch which is directly behind your clutch pedal. make sure gear selector is in neutral you may try moving the wires around (sometimes they may lose their connection)while pushing the button in and attempting to start the vehicle. Also when you turn your key to crank your vehicle does your engine turn over and just doesn't start or does nothing at all happen. There are a few possible variables if your could describe everything that does or does not happen.
