Question about 1991 Saturn SL1
I drive a 1998 Saturn SL1 and I was in an accident the other day, and my airbags deployed. The car is still safe to drive, and the damage to it is mostly cosmetic. I'm going to try to buy my own airbags online to have them installed, but I can't get a straight answer on whether or not I can get the Airbag light in the dashboard to turn off. Do I just need to have the airbags replaced, or are there other sensors that need to be reset and/or replaced, or do I need to get a code in the computer fixed? Also, my horn hasn't worked since the accident, and I assume that this has something to do with the airbags. Is there a way I can get the horn to function while I'm waiting on a new set of airbags? I've checked all of the fuses related to the horn and airbags, and they all look just fine.
Thanks a bunch!
The light should go out after you replace the sensor that should be in the front of the vehicle. You can check the fuse for the horn. However, some of the airbags that don't come from a dealers, don't deploy, but there is no way of knowing that until you are in an accident.
