The charging system for the battery may be in trouble. Charge the battery up with a small charger overnight. The engine should fire right up--if so, then measure the battery voltage with a voltmeter. It should read: 13.5 to 14.5 volts DC. If it reads only 12.6 volts, the alternator is in trouble. Take the car to an auto parts house to have them check the alternator while still on the engine--they will usually do so for free as they hope to sell you a replacement part.

2001 Volvo s40 seems to stall and not start for ten to 15 min. Also has high temperature reading that is false as car is not really hot.

You need to look at the temp sending unit it's probably faulty anthor issue with volvo is dirty throttle body's this raises havoc on the car they idle up down all over the map also you should change the thermostat too as a precautionary measure make sure it's the right temp for your year of your car thanx Chris

1994 volvo 850 2.4l engine turns over but will not start only happens when cold

Is the check engine light on? Check for fault codes first. Sometimes these engines had issues with carbon build up and poor starting cold. Run a bottle of Techron thru the tank and see if it gets better.

99 GMC denali BCM

The BCM has nothing to do with the starting of the vehicle . ( lately it doesnt start ) ?????? Doesn't start how ? When you turn the key to start does the starter spin the engine ? But doesn't start an run ? This is a crank no start condition . Sounds like a fuel delivery problem , what is the fuel pressure ? What engine ! What type fuel injection ( CPI ) Try spraying carb cleaner into the engine ,through the throttle plate an see if it starts then . fuel pressure should be 415-455 kPa (60-66 psi)

Stoped runing andwill not start

If it stopped in a second, the cause is electrical problem. If it stopped more gradually, over several seconds, it is usually fuel related. If you put the key in the ignition and turn it to run, not start, are there lights on the dashboard panel? If you turn the key to the start position, does the engine rotate? Sometimes I have to turn the key to start position several times before it works and the engine rotates.

My volvo s80 will not start and when it does the engine shakes and then it dies out, it says "Reduced Engine Power" what can that be?

Have the timing checked if you can get it runing for a few minutes. If not I would have the computers codes checked if possible. It sounds like a timing problem

Car wont start but starter motor clicks but does not turn the engine over, it has also flashed up the error message, imobiliser, see manual, sometimes, when i turn the key, historically, it doesnt do it?

ur vehicle is in anti theft mode -possible bad key, ignition cylinder switch or security circuit problem try with different or new key if still problem will need to have system checked by a dealer or a mechanic that is qualified to work on the security and electronics

Truck starter turn normal but takes to much to run

you need a new starter. chances are your bearings are bad. when the engine heats up the starter heats up and expands. since the bearings are worn they bind and the starter doesnt work.
