Question about 2001 Audi A4
Automatics can be changed to manual but its not that easy. Not only do you have to change the gear box you have to change all related parts (ie: driveshaft, flywheel, ujoints etc.) you then have to hang a clutch petal mount a slave cylinder. Might want to rethink this project.

Testimonial: "cheers my manual engine is blown up and i can buy a auto will my gear box fit"
I hear you saying that you are changing the engine not the transmission??
The gear box will probally fit the engine with a like code. Be sure to install a pilot bearing in the back of the crankshaft to support the transmission input shaft front end (Automatics do not have the bearing since the flex plate and the torque converter turn with the engine) This may require some machine work to size the OD of the bearing since the crank on the automatic engine may not be bored to the specs for the bearing. Good Luck
