You may have the park paul in a bind. Grab the steering wheel and turn it hard to the right or left depending on which way it is in a bind, while at the same time turning the ignition switch. If this does not help and you are parked on an incline you may have to have a few men push it up the incline until the brake releases.

Only thing which come to mind is the brake peddle has to be depressed to take out of park. If you are pressing it, is the brake light coming on. If brake lights are not coming on could be brake peddle switch. Sorry if this doesn't just my thought for now.

How do i bleed the brakes on my 1984 ford mustang never done it before

same as any nother car. take off mastercylinder cap. get a helper set in the drivers seat. apply pressure to the brake peddle. with a box or tube wrench break the fluid *** on the top of the calliper/back of drum loose. foot pressure on peddle should push it to the floor -hold it on the floor! tighten the *** on the caliper/drum tight-ish. not over tight. then let peddle up off floor. pump till you get resistance/tighteness. hold pressure on peddle, loosen *** again and peddle will go to floor again tighten ***, lift up peddle pump for pressure. repeat untill all air is out of line/ or fluid runs out clear. never let the master cylinder get low on fluid. have plenty on hand. repeat for all 4 tires.

The T-Handle will not come out of Park, unless I use a screwdriver to by-pass the Shift Lock Solenoid.I replaced the Shift Lock Solenoid, and it's still the same.Any ideas?Better still-is there a way to...

There's a plunger switch on the brake pedal arm up above the pedal. It probably isn't working now. There will be a way to move it as an adjustment, which you can try to see if you can realign it. If that doesn't work you can replace it, or just jumper the two wires on the switch itself to effectively permanently close it. Then the interlock will be disabled and you won't have to push the pedal down to take the car out of Park.

Under the dash where the parking brake peddle at, if you look up under the dash, you will see a small lever, push down on the peddle and release with small lever.

Parking brake on my 01 kia rio(standard) no longer holds

parking brakes are adjusted at and with the rear brakes,..(drum brakes that is),.....as you adjust the rear brakes to have a slight drag as you spin tire, the parking brake is adjusted at the same time,...they work together with that one adjuster,....as you pull on the parking brake, it makes the brake shoes spread apart just as they do when you push the brake peddle,..by adjusting the rears you'll also find that the brake peddle feels better too.

Will not shift out of park

Chances are you're parked on a hill. You need someone to push on the car to take the pressure off the parking pin in the transmission. The other possible problem is there is a solenoid the won't release the gear shifter until the brake pedal is depressed. If you are pushing the brake pedal before trying the gear shift there is a malfunction in this system. This is not as easy to fix. If you aren't mechanically inclined I recomend taking that to a mechanic. If you are so inclined let me know and I can help guide you thru the steps.
