How to replace the heater core on a 2005 caravan

No heat in the front, loss of radiator fluid, radiator fluid leak under the passenger mat. I think it is the heater core.

You are correct about it being the heater core but you need to get a chiltons or haynes manual for instructions on removal ....way too long to write out here.

Is a task to get to it and time comsuming, you have to tear into the dash behind the glove compartment to get to it. it can be your heater core or busted heater control valve. heater core will in the same location as evaporater.

My 1999 dodge caravan is still overheating. I have already replaced the thermostat and the water pump, also there is no heat. please help me someone!

Hi there.
Well you can either have a problem with either radiator outer {dust/dirt in outer core of radiator or clogged up inside were water goes, or soft hoses, blowen head gasket plus a few others ,but first go to garage to were you blow up your tyres and use the air hose and blow out the radiator core where the air goes in, 2 drain out radiator water and then refill with water at 1 ltr at a time and then check your info car book and find how much water the radiator takes ,if it dosent take all the ltrs then the radiator is blocked inside.
if engine runs rough missing etc then get your Head gasket checked out.
When you say no heat is that with heat on gauge or no heat from heater, as it could be heater blockage same as radiator core. So let me know how you get on.

I have a 2005 dodge grand caravan and the heat has not been working for a couple weeks now, and now it is leaking a pink fluid from front passenger side, and over heating on the gage but then cooling

if you have a leak inside it may be a heater core problem which can cause all your problems. check it by doing a pressure test on the cooling system.

Blows cold air from heater. Replaced Thermostat. Still blows cold air.

will try to help. is your radiator full of fluid? sometimes there will be an air lock, or [air in hoses] with the engine running at first started!!! take the radiator cap off, fill with 50/50 antifreeze. or if you are in alaska, seek advice from local parts store on level you need for coverage.you may have a bad bad heater core, but not likely because you would say you have fluid leaking onto passenger side floorboard.you may have purchased the car used?somewhere there is a blockage in your system.either a bad radiator, heater core,i will try to help because i've had same problem,in the FRONT OF RADIATOR]place a small peice of cardboard in the front of radiator!!ONLY COVER HALF OF THE RADIATOR] slide it down in front of the radiator on the side of the part where the radiator fan is not at. then you will have heat. if yout engine temperature rises to unsafe level, cut cardboard in half and replace!!!make sure;to put in front of the radiator only!!!this will apply heat to car while in motion!

My van is over heating there is coolant and water in the radiator it started leaking underneath towards where the front passenger seat

The problem sounds like either the inlet or outlet hose to the heater core is cracked or split. Or the heater core itself is at fault. Need to inspect the hoses from engine to the firewall going to the heater core for damage. If no leak from the outside then problem will be on the inside under the dash. Hope this will help you.

I HAVE A 99 DODGE CARAVAN 3.3L COOLANT IS

Where is it leaking from? The radiator its self, the heater core found under the dash, or some where in between? Look for pools of coolant under the front floor mats, If you find it there, then the heater core needs to be replaced. Next time it happens, Pull over immediately and look under the car to see where it is leaking, (look from more than one angle). Or park it over some clean cardboard, where ever the stains are, will give you a clue of where to look for the problem. And most easy, Bring it back to the mechanic who installed the new radiator., Most legitimate mechanics warrant their work and yours may be responsible in some way, or at least be familiar with your particular Caravan.
The solution is to locate and fix the leak, but also perform a thouro cooling system flush. The system bay have serious dirt, clay, or corrosion that is causing issues with proper flow and pressure, thus causing leaks.
And Always Pull Over when it begins to OverHeat! Heat damage to an engine can spell Death to any Car, even Caravans. Good Luck.

The front passenger side of the floor is always 2005 DOdge Carava

Is it wet with water or coolant? If it is coolant you have a damaged heater core. If it is water it could be from a windshield with a bad seal, a leak in the floor or possibly an air conditioning system with a plugged drain tube. There is nothing else that would bring water in from the vehicle. If your are a cold climate and snow gets in on someone's boots it will melt and wait till dry weather to clear.

Water leak passenger side in dodge caravan 2005 carpet soaked

look at the firewall on the engine side and you will see a small stub hose coming out on passenger side about even with the bottom of the heater box inside. that hose drains condensation from the ac...clear it out and you will have a dry floor. (unless heater core is leaking but you didn't mention any overheat or coolant loss so likely that's not a problem)
