Why won't the driver side window roll down?

The drivers window gets the most wear. Some cars have a relay for the automatic lowering of the window once it is engaged. This can also mean the push switch for that window does not work to send the signal to the relay. You would also need to test the wires for power from the Relay to the window motor. Once you have eliminated the window switch, the window relay, you are left with the window motor.

The wiring leads from the window motor can be checked with an Ohmmeter to see if the window motor is burned out. If you do not have the Ohmmeter, they are part of a multi-tester which is inexpensive.

Getting the door panels off to do this varies by automaker. A place which could help you would be a Glass shop. They open door frames daily to replace glass.

Also the track that the glass fits in may need adjustment. If the track is misaligned or bad it will strain the window motor or cause a fuse to break.

I hope my solution is helpful.

Automatic windows

the click you are hearing is the relay for the window motor. if it wont go up or down it is most likely the window motor that has gone bad and needs replaced.

Rear windows won't go down

You also have Circuit Breakers for your windows, Or your Master Switch ,You can Test the Driver Control Switch or the rear switches by removing the Switches and using the connector Plug and a Jump wire try jumping accross the wires,if they go up or down you could have a Bad Switch,if nothing moves more than likely your Window Motor is bad. BUT first CHECK your Circuit Breakers ,It could be Labeled as accessery Relay or circuit Breaker.

1996 nissan pathfinder driver side window won't go up and down

does it click or grind when pushing window button if so the window lift track may need replaced, if there are no sounds then disconnect the wires from the lift motor and with the ignition on so power is sent to switch, push button and check wires to 12 volts dc. If no power I would replace the driver side switch after checking the wires for defects. If there is power then I would re-install wires to motor after turning off key and try button again with power on. replace motor if it doesn't work.

Side right front window won't roll down from right side but will using the buttons on driver's side in a 1994 Lincoln Town Car

since it works from the left button its not the motor, so it would have to be the switch that,s bad. replace right side switch and you should be back to proper operation.

2006 Grand Cherokee Laredo. Driver side window raises to top then lowers to halfway when you use the button in automatic mode. When using the button at halfway it works normally.

try pressing and holding window switch until window motor stops in down position, then pull up and hold switch until window motor stops..this should recalibrate window position..i hope this helps
