2002 Hyundai Elantra brake and battery light on and cannot steer

This morning while driving I heard a loud noise for a minute or two sounded like balls bouncing around in plastic but the car drove fine I was in traffic and close to work so I parked the car at work and it was fine drove it to lunch no problem but on way home I noticed the battery and brake lights stayed on and the steering was tight, and the AC was blowing warm. I made it home about 5 miles and could barely turn the steerin wheel to park it and the lights are still on?

I believe the alternator belt has broken or the alternator it's self has quit working. Open the hood and see if any of the pulleys are missing the belt.

Hyundai Accent 2016, 4811 km. makes grinding noice which can be heard when driving on smooth asphalt road. Noice is on for a while and then you don't hear it for a while. What can be the problem?

Wheel bearings could be the problem. While moving and steering to the left, if the noise increases, it could be the RIGHT wheel bearing. And the opposite when steering to the right. I wouldn't rule out brake noise though. Rotors almost overnight get a surface rust and must be worn off when first driving in the morning. Very common in high humid areas.

How to Reset ECM on a 2002 Hyundai elantra

I found this on a HYUNDAI form
Firstly bring the car to normal operating temperature by driving for 15 minutes or so.
Now open the bonnet and disconnect the earth lead from the battery, ensure this is not touching any part of the bodywork - insulate if necessary - and wait 5 minutes.
Next switch on the ignition and depress the foot brake for 20 seconds - this will completely discharge the ECU's capacitors via the brake lights.
The next step (to be carried out immediately, while the engine is still warmed-up) is to carefully re-connect the battery earth lead, close the bonnet and now drive the car in a spirited fashion (accelerating rapidly through the gears, full-throttle straights etc. etc.) for a full 30 minutes. Try to choose a quiet time on the roads for this, (i.e. early on a Sunday morning!).

This period of driving will `re-educate` your ECU into adopting more aggressive timing curves and alter the fuelling to match. It will also allow the uniticon1.png to recognise any modifications you have made and to react accordingly.
If, on the other hand, you are not interested in outright performance, but are more concerned with economy and flexibility, use your normal driving styleicon1.png during this 30-minute run!

Have a 2002 Hyundai Elantra that makes creaking noise in stearing wheel , not so much when cold but definitely when it is hot

Sometimes the boot or the rubber at the base of the steering column will make that type of noise. To help eliminate it, rule it out or identify it spray some silicone spray on both sides of the boot/rubber inside and outside.

Try disconnecting your battery for about 30 sec to reset the ABS computer. You probly have a trouble code stored in the ABS computer and the lights are letting you know there was a problem. If the light stays on after you reset computer then you will have to pull code to troubleshoot problem.
