It is on the pass side of the engine where you would normally find the distributor and no it is not hard to change p.s.it runs off the camshaft

Why does my truck crank fine and run good except for a hard random miss every so often while driving down the road?

You'll probably need a shop to check it out.
The code for the cam sensor usually means the computer is not getting a signal, or it is not in sync with the crank. Since you replaced the sensor, the problem could be the cam or the circuit between the sensor and the engine computer.
There is a flow chart with tests to run for each trouble code.

When its hot outside my car will start but than just turns right off.

it is very hard to tell. but if check engine light is on get it scanned for problem codes then repost . it could be anything from fuel pressure to a bad crank or cam sensor. auto-zone will scan vehicle for free to find the problem codes. a bad coolant tempurature sensor will keep vehicle from starting when cold. get it scanned if check engine light is on. I know that a check engine light will not allways come on if a sensor is failing. so just check it out. have a good day !! on some vehicles the thermostat and radiator pressure cap have an effect on car when its hot out. check out thermostat first.

Try a Auto Zone in your area,They will run the code for you and give you a printout that will tell you exacty what it is,,,,and its free, This way you can be sure,Dealerships like keeping you guessing so they make money off every wrong guess,Ouch! for your wallet.Your jetta is old enough for the cam sensor to be bad,not a hard fix,,,but if the sensor has scraches on it from the cam rubbing on it that means your cam it hiting it,,but than again You might have over head cams, and than its just a malfuctuing cam sensor and its again a easy fix ,,,,first find out what it is than locate it and than remove and replace.

I have a 2003 GMC Envoy and the check engine light comes on peridically. Auto Zone checked it and Code 0128 was the alleged issue. However, where is the sensor? No one seems to know the location of the...

This code relates to low coolant temperature not the 02 sensors. You should change your thermostat, it's stuck open and is not allowing the engine to properly heat up.

By the way, there are 2 92 sensors on Envoys and Trailblazers. One of them upstream is in the engine compartment right off the exhaust manifold, easy to replace. The other one downstream is next to the transmission drain plug in the exhaust pipe.

Engine shuts donw and "Fail Safe" message is displayed.

first thing you should do is have it plugged into a scanner to see what the problem is.places like auto zone and advance auto parts do it for free. then if it is the throttle position sensor its located on top of the engine not hard to do.but if its one of the four oxygen located on the exhaust sensors depends which one it is but usually requires special socket to remove them without stripping them, very hard.
