Question about 1998 Volkswagen Passat

1 Answer

I hit under my car in the front going into a driveway...it made a huge pressure release hiss... I looked under the car and one of two aluminum angled pipes has a hole. they go into two long rubber hoses into the front. they are hooked to something that runs by a belt at the bottom of the engine... what are those pipes coming out of? Is it air conditioning? It still runs and there is light oil that dripped out. Help Please.

Brakes are hard to press down and does not stop truck, when releasing brake the engine idle falls and it almost dies

The power assist unit just behind the master cylinder is not working and has a huge vacuum leak. That is causing the idle rpm to fall.

I took bad hit from undercarriage of my minivan I have leak is it the transmission and why do I hear a hissing sound?

The a/c condensor is up front and mounted low you could have ruptured the line. It will stop after it lost all its pressure. Also there is a vacuum plastic can(tank) mounted under splash shield also.

Sounds like you have lost the front seal on the compressor... This is probably causing the hissing sound your hearing as the A/C clutch is the actual cause of the seal going out and also causing a difference in your stearing...
