When you say, snapped---do you mean its broken? Or is it something that I can "snap back on"?? Is this something my husband can fix himself or does it need taken in for repairs (my husband is mechanically inclined FYI). Thank you.

Help! The driver's side door of my 2008 PT Cruiser will not open from the inside. I can open the car door from the outside, but I am stuck inside unless I crawl over the console and get out the passenger side. What's wrong? Is this something my Mr. Fix It husband can repair for me without tearing my door apart? I bought the car from an individual so no dealership to complain to.

Thanks, we'll give that a try.

The handle most likely fell off. You will have to use a jimmy or coathanger to open. Then open door, remove all screws in door panel, window and lock controls and mirror control. Then take a large flat-head screwdriver and gently pry off door panel and lift up and off. You can than access door handle rod and snap back in place.

Broken a part of plastic lever, which releases the spring loaded pi/bolt which effectively locks it & comparatively less force is required when opening the door from outside, but the inner ones require some more force..sodeept

How to remove rear door panel on my 2008 pt cruiser

I think the rear windows are designed to only go down so far as the body design of the rear doors won`t allow them to completely go down. the doors are a different shape than the front doors.

Gas door won't open

FIRST: try using the gas release lever from inside the car with the driver side door closed. My 2006 Jetta gas release lever would only work if the driver door were shut and I pulled the release from the inside car interior. Turns out it was a severed door wire (NOT THE RELEASE CABLE). Thus when the door was open, it stretched the damaged wire and so none of the door controls worked unless the door was closed. ie windows, trunk release, and gas release. It was a $600 repair at the dealership, parts and labor! :(

I have about 52,000 miles on my 2008 Pt Cruiser. How many miles can I drive before I need an oil change?

You should replace the oil every 3,000 miles or 3 months. Unless you are using synthetic oil. With synthetic you can go to 10,000 miles. But I change mine at 7,500.

I lost my keys to my 2001 PT Cruiser, I have an extra key that only opens the doors but does not start the car. I don't have a way to get another key unless I go to the dealership, I can't get there w/o my...

hotwiring will not unlock your ignition which also controls your steering lock perhaps you can call the dealership and have the courier a key will cost you more but it may still be better for you they will ask you for vin number and perhaps proof of ownership it cannot hurt to call and ask

2001Chrysler PT Cruiser rear door stuck

Hey I happen to have the same car with the same problem. I ended up taking the inner cover off the hatch and replacing the latch itself. Did this by pulling the cover off far enough I could see the linkage and then pushed the arm on the latch itself to make it open, put a new one on and called it good. b Hope this helps.
