Brake lights out volkswagen polo- P reg My brake lights are not coming on on my volkswagen polo I have checked the fuse and the bulbs but to no avail any other ideas? Thanks

hi when you go under the dash and look up to the brakepedal, you will see a switch, maybe you have to remove one piece of cover under dash, witch detect the pedal moving and switches on the brakelights. when you connect the two wires an the lights come up, all system is ok. correct or replace the switch. good luck.

N REG POLO changed pads replaced rear wheel cylinder for brake shoes then bled brakes then turn engine on moved car 10ft pressed brake pedal it was like a sponge

You must still have air in one of the pipes - not necessaryily only to the wheel you have been working on (though normally that is so). Did youu make sure that the fluid level remained above minimum in the brake fluid master cylinder while you were bleeding the brakes? Possibly a slurp of air went in there and now the other pipes will need bleeding too. Don't panic - just bleed all the brake pipes, making sure that the master cylinder level stays high.

Engine revs on its own! vw polo

There are many number of reasons for this problem...but a VERY common one is a faulty thermo sensor which controls air / fuel ratio.

Did you check the oil cooling filter...??? , that's the only thing I'd imagine , otherwise you may have a very small leak on the engine gaskets...
