Question about 1993 Dodge Caravan

1 Answer

1993 Dodge Caravan gages work then go off and on while driving

The gauges work then they completely shut off and then go on again while the vehicle is in operation. The car also bucks or hesitates. I don't know if these two are related. I just replaced the fuel pump and changed the oil.

When the gauges go out try pounding on the top of the dash if the gauges come back on it is probably a loose connection going into the gauges

No gages,no lights,no signals,but it runs ??????

check the fuses, the one for the instrument cluster is located under the dash. if fuse is good check the alternator. if it is not putting out any juice the first thing to go is the gauges and radio then the vehicle will shut off because it is running soley on the battery which wont last long.

My 1993 grand caravan speedometer just quit working. What would be the most likely problem?

The VSS (Vehicle Speed Sensor), is a common problem when your speedometer does not work anymore. It is usually located outside on the transmission, screwed into the case, it is very easy to replace, just unplug the electrical connector, unscrew the old one and reinstall the new one, no calibration is required.

Vehicle: 2000 Dodge Ram 1500, 5.9L, Automatic Transmission, 171,000 miles. Vehicle will stop running, just shut off, after about 10 minutes of driving. Then after 5 minutes of waiting it will start again...

the first suspect is the igniton switch. when this happens, take the ign key and just barlely turn it, either way, not enough to go off/on just a little tweak, it the lights come back on or flicker, that ign switch will need replacement.

All gages dont work

I had the same problem and noticed when I went on a bumpy road that the gauges started working again. It is a short in the wiring because if you hit on the instrument panel with your hand the gauges will work again.

98 dodge caravan problems

I had the same issue with my dodge caravan and after several attempts by the dealer to fix it, it turned out to be a broken wire. They replaced the relay and it would work for a while and then go blank again. Have the wires checked thoroughly.
