Is the brake lamp switch output the same As the relay

No, the brake light switch is powered from a different fuse and when the brake light switch is activated, power from the switch activates the relay. The relay then takes power from the brake lite fuse or fuses and sends it to the brake lamps.

I assume the fuse has power if the hazards work.
The third brake light skips the turn signal switch, the regular brake light circuit goes thru the turn signal switch.
Do you have power going into the turn signal switch on the red lite green wire from the brake switch ?

95 gmc c1500 third brake lite works but cargo won't

The cargo light will only work if the lights in the cab are on. Turn them on then flip the switch for the cargo light and it should come on, if not then it is probably an electrical problem.

2003 jetta. EPC lite is on. brake lites do not work. cruise does not work.

Check all your ground points. The brake lights and cruise may be grounded to the same spot. Re-check the cruise fuse and brake/tail light fuses.

95 Regal Custom, ABS code #95 brake switch circuit and no brake lights. Replaced SLS still no change.

Check the brake light switch (location pedal) unplug the switch & bridge the wires & if the brake lights come on the switch is faulty. all you are doing by bridgeing the wires is bypassing the switch. What is SLS?

No brake lites- bulbs are good-brake switch is new -no power to brake switch 96 jeep wrangler 4.0 L where is the relay

there is no relay for the brake lights.check at the brake switch for voltage at the wire should have voltage all the time and the other wire should only have voltage when the pedal is pressed.if not then check the fuses,or check the fuses first with a test light,as looking at fuses you can`t always see if its any good.if they are good then you will have to check the wiring for a brake in the system start at the rear of the car,and work towards the front.

My 2004 Chevy Impala Brake lights don't work. I checked the bulbs and fuse. All is ok. I replaced the brake light switch with a new one. Still nothing. Is there a relay somewhere that I am missing?

You have 2 brake lite switches . Did you replace the one for the brake lite or the one for the single lite. Check again please...when you replaced the brake lite switch .. did you check and see if the bakes lights were on and if they were on. If they were the problem is in the adjusting of the switch. If not check for the relay..Good Luck!!!

I have a 95 silverado k1500 6.5 diesel my brake lite;s don't work

ohm the brake light switch by the brake pedal. if this is still good, chances are its your multifunction switch in the steering column. when you press the brake pedal it goes through the switch so that it can also break contact to allow for the turn signals to operate on either side.

No brake and stop lights.

check to see if you have power at the brake switch, with a test lite, and if so trace the wiring back to the brake lites and test the wiring at each junction point in between.
