I assume the fuse has power if the hazards work. The third brake light skips the turn signal switch, the regular brake light circuit goes thru the turn signal switch. Do you have power going into the turn signal switch on the red lite green wire from the brake switch ?
Check the brake light switch (location pedal) unplug the switch & bridge the wires & if the brake lights come on the switch is faulty. all you are doing by bridgeing the wires is bypassing the switch. What is SLS?
there is no relay for the brake lights.check at the brake switch for voltage at the wires.one wire should have voltage all the time and the other wire should only have voltage when the pedal is pressed.if not then check the fuses,or check the fuses first with a test light,as looking at fuses you can`t always see if its any good.if they are good then you will have to check the wiring for a brake in the system start at the rear of the car,and work towards the front.
You have 2 brake lite switches . Did you replace the one for the brake lite or the one for the single lite. Check again please...when you replaced the brake lite switch .. did you check and see if the bakes lights were on and if they were on. If they were the problem is in the adjusting of the switch. If not check for the relay..Good Luck!!!
check all your fuses if fuses are good check brake lite bulbs see if they are blown. if bulbs are good get a test lite see if you have power to the bulb sockets have friend apply brake pedal you test power going into bulb socket if you have no power brake lite switch behind brake pedal could be burnt out. p.s dont forget to check all fese relays when checking your fuses.
ohm the brake light switch by the brake pedal. if this is still good, chances are its your multifunction switch in the steering column. when you press the brake pedal it goes through the switch so that it can also break contact to allow for the turn signals to operate on either side.
