I'd like to rebuild transmission with a few new parts plus need blueprint on how to assemble it and will also need gasket etc. Can you help?

look online or some auto stores not all carry transmission rebuilt kits the kits run about 450 and up check with the kits if they come with a rebuild manual (most rebuild manuals about $45 -70) if it does not come with kit also will need some special tools which can be bought or some auto places rent ---biggest hurdle to start with will be the removal of the transmission

Rebuild chevy tahoe's transmission

If you have the experience you can remove the transmission and rebuild it or you can take it to a trans tech and get an estmate for the rebuild > after the estimate you can call some bone yards and see how much they would want for a used transmission with a warranty> you can also go online and get a price for a bebuilt with a warranty.

Transmission slipping in 1998 cadillac eldorado

Once the transmission starts to slip that is pretty much it, there is nothing that can be done except to remove the transmission and rebuild it or install a factory remanufactured unit. Beware of cheap rebuilds like O'Riley or Autozone can order, use a genuine GM reman, you will not be sorry.

Hello, I just want to confirm something with someone that has a little knowledge on the subject... The question is: on a 97 k1500/5.7liter 4x4 would you have to remove the transfer case in order to...

The transfer case could be left on the transmission when the trans is removed from the vehicle to be rebuilt. The transfer case would need tobe removed from the trans in order to complete the rebuilding procedure. However, the problem seems to be in the front axle, which has nothing to do removing the transfer case. The 97 uses an actuator on the front axle that is responsible for actually engaging the front axle. This is a really common failure for this part. Outs not that hard to make sure there is power to it, the ground is good, and/or the fuses are good. There is a switch in the transfer case that supplies power to the front axle actuator when the transfer case is placed in 4WD. it wouldn't hurt to make sure that was plugged in as well.

Can anybody service a trans.on a 2003 sealed trans.mercery mounteer

The transmission shop have the tools to get in there and rebuild them. I would take to AAmco, Mr. Transmission , Cottman Transmissions. The reason for those places is they give a nation wide warranty on there work.
but a local transmission shop would be fine.
This is a very expensive transmission to rebuild. You are looking at parts and labor around $ 2500.00 . So the other option is to get a trasnmission order and replace it with out trying to rebuild it. That could be the best and cheapest way to go. The transmission shop has the resources to order a transmission for replacement.

Good Luck
