Question about 1995 Eagle Vision

1 Answer

Between 1 to 6 hrs of sittting, 45 sec. crank to start

Trouble starting after it sits from 1 hr to about 6 hrs. It starts fine within the hour of running and it will start fine again after sitting for over 6 hrs. Any time in between, I have to let it crank over for about 30 to 45 seconds for it to start. When I shut it down, it will start, no problem until that 1 hr to 6 hrs again. I've been to Chrysler, Cdn Tire and a local mechanic, theyv'e tested, I've replaced cam sensor, high and low sensor, fuel pump, filters, plugs, wires, coil. No one can find and fix the problem. Codes don't show anything else.
Can anyone help? Ideas?

Have your fuel pressure checked at the fuel rail. It should be just over 40lbs of pressure. If it is lower than 40 I would have your pump changed. From your description it sounds as if your pump is getting weak. And if you have plenty of pressure I would look towards the DIS module or the crank sensor, but the crank sensor should set and engine light.

First place I would check are the battery terminals. Remove them and clean the posts, re-attach and tighten them. You can buy a tool for cleaning the posts at your local auto store.

94 4.0 dies while driving will start after sitting a while

Sorry to say someone will have to have tools ready to check it the next time it quits running.
Could be a relay, the ignition module, the coil, or anything else that can get hot and stop working.

Truck wont start in the morning or if it sitts for a couple of hours.I have 60 psi fuel pressure and i have spark. When i try to start it just keeps turning over. If I use starting fluid it starts right...

I think your fuel pressure is borderline. How accurate is the gauge? Those injectors usually wont work under 58psi. I would replace the fuel pumpp and filter if the truck has over 125K miles on the original pump. .
