Abs light staying on

The ABS light comes on when there is a malfuntion in the ABS system, not when the brakes are low. On a Ford you more than likely have a dirty sensor or pick up ring on the back side of the rotor. And no you do not have to change the rear drum brakes when changing your front pads but they should be inspected.
Usually you will change 2-3 sets of front pads before the rears need to be changed.

Rear brakes on 2006 f150 need changing

There should be two bolts that hold the caliper to the axle assembly. Remove these two bolts and slide the caliper off. At this point check the rotors for abnormal wear or grooves. Depending on how many miles you have on them I would replace them regardless. Before you insert the new pads into the caliper I like to use a C clamp and a piece of flatstock to force the pistons back to their original location. If you don't do this you will not be able to fit the caliper over the rotor. Before installing the caliper if you did buy the new rotors use some brake cleaner to remove any of the cosmoline oil that they are shipped with. Remember to chock your front wheels or use jackstands if you have enough. Good luck!

Changing front brakes on my 2006 ford f150

I have had to replace mine on my 2004 model, I normally will use a block of wood with a clamp. the block of wood protects the inside of the caliper and twist the C-clamp until it is flush in the Brake caliper. Install your new pads and re-assemble, duplicate for the other side. after you have done this, start the vehicle and step on the brake pedal several times, this insures that the brakes will set against the rotor. Good Luck

2007 F150 Left front brake grind just today. Can ijust replace all pads. No job right now and just want to get fixed for fair price with no BS regarding rotors etc...

if your strapped for cash i would suggest doing it yourself as you will not have to pay for labour and all that other BS, not sure on prices on pads but if go to a car parts store they should be able to order specific ones for your car and they arnt hard to change that would be your best bet
