Either it's a cheap replacement mirror that can't be tightened. Or, the original (oe) has been hit hard enough to displace on of the plastic attachments behind the mirror. Adjust the mirror to the extreme right so you can peek behind the mirror to look for an displaced attachment. Line the 2 points up and firmly with a gloved hand, push into place until you hear it "click" into place. Good luck

02 GMC Sierra outside mirror.my mirror shook driving down the road.i simply pushed the mirror down to get to the tangs with a screwdriver and cleaned the back of the mirror with alcohol in 2 opposite areas just next to the tangs and applied a 3m strip of double sticky back foam then pressed it firmly back on the mirror housing.that took all the sack out.you can test it prior by pushing the mirror down and look in the gap with a flashlight, wiggle your mirror while looking back there to see where the gap is and how much tape you will need.you can double up on the tape if need be.hope this helps someone.there were no answers for my questions

My driver side mirror keeps moving out of place even after I set it.

Hi, your mirror is most likely plastic with the glass inserted.
Providing the mirror itself is ok & the housing is moving please look to see how it is attached to the vehicle. If the mirror case is screwed to the door then the holding bolts are loose. Your other option is to set your mirror to the correct position and apply some motor vehicle grade black mastic or similar.
Hope this helps,
Richard Australia.

Tighten side mirror

If the mirror housing is loose and nothing has hit it and broken the mounting to the door frame, yes. If it is the glass part that is loose and it is a electric or manual mirror, something has damaged it behind the glass replacing it will fix problem.

Driver side mirror loose how do you tighten it 06 ford f150

If it is a loose mirror head ( i.e. separating where it meets the door ) you can remove the door panel to get to the 3 nuts that hold the sail panel on.

I have found Muth has some great directions with pictures for the install of their signal glass.

www.kwmuth.com

Just enter your Mfgr, model year and model, and on the product listing page are the directions in PDF.
Obviously follow the directions to the step prior to removing the mirror head for glass swap out.

The glass in the driver side rear view mirror is loose. how do you tighten it up?

The driver and passenger side mirrors have a small rubber plug in the bottom center of the mirror housing. Remove the plug and there is a phillips head screw holding the mirror assembly. Tighten this screw about 1/8 turn and it will keep the mirror from moving around. If you remove the screw you can remove the mirror and drive motors. Use a bit of thread-lock to keep the screw from loosing again. Reinstall the rubber plug.

Power mirrors are loose, how do i tighten them?

Hi, if the complete unit is loose you will find bolts on the inside of the door just above the door panel behind a cover (usually a triangular shaped cover), that you will have to tighten. If the mirror glass is loose you should find a hole underneath the mirror housing where you have to put a screw driver in and tighten the screw on the inside to secure the glass.

2003 GMC sierra side view mirror glass replacement

That dependso on if the housing itself is broken then yes. If the face plate that is attached to the mirror itself is flapping around then maybe. If it is just the mirror, just go to your neighborhood auto glass shop and but a "Ready-Cut" mirror for a small amount of money. they come already cut to fit perfectly. As for removing the old glass, take a very small flat screw driver and pry the glass away from the face plate. Once completely cleaned out use the adhesive from the ready cut and place them on the face plate. Next press the new mirror onto the flace pate, being careful not to press to hard or it will snap it in half.
