You should have a good blue spark accross plug gap if not pull your coil packs apart and check for carbon tracking or corrosion in tower assembly, you could also have a fautly modual.

My 2001 jeep grand Cherokee larado L6 4.0 I have a crank/no start condition I got spark and fuel pump is coming on/

the pump can make noise, good or bad.
its just a simple dc motor rotor pump.
this jeep is EFI so pressure matters not sounds.
if the pump sounds dead that is dead pump or no 12vdc power to it, voltmeter wins this battle.
why not learn first that nostarts have 50 causes.
one can guess
one can replace parts in statistical order (sorry your car never reads stats)
or one can learn to diagnose EFI. i cant teach you in this box.
sorry.
but I can put you on the correct track for sure.
1: lets pretend the ENGINE is ok , the larger list of parts bad.
2: and go for SPARK. no gas engine runs with no spark so
is like NUMBER ONE first test
GOT SPARK , my guess is you dont even know what that means.
google or youtube how to test spark, 10,000 examples for 100 years running. (car repair for dummies in the book store "?)
3: spark needs to be good on all 5 cylinders. not 1.
so most fail to do that, lazy or ? i dont know why.
this engine and this year runs a odd huge single coil rail pack
so not scanning the PCM now ,is really making the job hard.
no?
to do this correctly lacking most tools. (scanner missing)
the FSM tells you how. its free to read, why not read that now
in the offical jeep book.
what is done is the pack is racked back(unbolted )
and test spark plugs used.
if you know EFI, you know 2 things, in same book
do not short plugs. nor run them open circuited , on purpose.
so getting 6 plugs there and 6 grounds, is a daunting task.
for most persons, (not the shop its normal)
chapter 8I (8 india) in the FSM is SPARK chapter, read it now.

if the spark test passes then test fuel, test passes.
instant start spray in a can, buy it in any auto store earth.
if that works engines sounds great. then
we ATTACK fuel now.
next is fuel pressure,
just because a rail fitting shows leaks fuel test.
means nothing , it only means the pump is not 100% dead
EFI need spec pressure to run any engine,
spec
case in point, 10 PSI the engine can not run.
see?
the running fuel pressure is
49.2 psi 6 5 psi). not 10.
over 55.4psi is bad FPR
the books says, below 44.2 psi (weak pump or FPR bad)

there you go, all way to find this, (engine good)
Mr, otto cycle engines, same deal for 100 years

engine good. CAT convertor not melted.
good spark x6 (this case)
and proper fueling , not starving not flood , it starts.
THE PCM does FUEL and SPARK now from 1988 to now.

code p 0307 is misfiring on no 7 cylinder ====causes --- engine mechanical fault ---wiring---ignition/ fuel system--injector --ECT/MAF sensor---ECM
look for low fuel pressure or ignition control module

I have a 95 Chevy 1500 truck 4by 4 and I can't get it to start I tried everything it seems like it wants to start but nothing what could it be

well if it won't start it won't start...because your engine has lost 1 of 3 things that make it run: gas, spark, and compression. Don't tie yourself into knots over what it could be. Do the basics first. 1.Check that the engine is getting gas into the cylinders.
2.Check that the spark plugs in the cylinders are getting ignition current to make blue snapping sparks when tested.
3.If you have both spark and gas to all cylinders, you should do a compression test of the cylinders to know there is enough compression in the cylinders to make it run. Without good compression readings from all cylinders, no amount of money thrown at it will make the engine run better, you have to do mechanical repairs to the engine that restores compression first.

Most times, sudden no starts are gas or spark related. Check those first. Happy Holidays.

huh?

ok, engine stalls. (can a fast right foot save the stall)?

if compression is good.

and 12vdc is at the EFI , system. no below 10v ever.

then check for spark loss. on all cylinders? good?

did you scramble the spark wire? they have a firing order?

does car start and run good and sound good on test fuel (spray)

and a fuel gauge tells you if fuel pressure meets spec.

and the injectors dont leak and a balance test show they are equal

Car startts fine. everyday but 1 day it doesn't start but then start

ever heard of a tune up? every 60kmiles, in your opr. guide, read it.
ok, take the simple test?
1: it cranks robustly (300rpm is good speed)
2: it cranks but dont start (how can this be a bad starter , troy?
my wild guess, is op means #2 and if true.
its a no start engine.
and can be 1 of 3 things.
1: low compression. You never said, starts cold or hot.
some times compression can be very low hot. so...........
a comprssion guage works here and is dirt cheap.. $20
150PSI min warm. or hot.
2: dead or weak spark, on 1 or more cylinders.
cost , one $1.49 new tests spark plug. test all 4 cylinders
oldest test on mother earth for 100years now..... google it.
3: bad fueling. (not my order?) too much or too little.

A: if the sparks tips are soaking in gas with new spark plugs and good fat spark then the engine is flooding
read the opr guide 1 more time it says what to do
you crank at W.0.T. (wide open throttle) this is a magic ECU trick
it cuts all fuel WOT. allowing the injectors to cut fuel and clear said flooding condtion.
ok say the spark tips are dry, bone dry.
you then introduce test fuel. watch scotty do is magic.

(ood related issues)
1: EGR stuck open, clean it, so it can do that , it loves to.
2: iSC stuck closed, (no air to start car)
the opr, guide tells you (suspecting #2) to add 10% gas pedal.
start now every time, bingo malfing ISC.
that dont mean to replace it , it cleans up just like a EGR main valve.
rich boys replace, us sand crabs clean.

95 dodge van, 2500. has a BAD engine miss, seems to smooth out when going up hill (giving it some gas) gets bad again when just going cruise speed..

Well to start with, if you have a 1995 Dodge van and it has the original engine, you have a fuel injector for each cylinder. The last year Dodge used a carb was 1987.
So you could have injectors that are not working, or the plugs may not be firing because of the cap or rotor, or it could be a compression or vac problem.
I would want to know which cylinders and then go down the list of possible causes. You should be able to use a vac gauge or tach and pull one wire at a time to find the weak cylinders.

Motor turns over but will not start, seems to be getting gas, & spark

I don't have enough info to give you a specific answer so I've listed a bunch of possible problem that could cause your engine to roll over but not start.
Check the battery and connections, a weak battery or bad connections can cause a weak spark and stop the engine from firing.
Fuel pump or fuel filter, low gas pressure can cause to lean of a air/fuel mixture for the engine to start.
Bad gas, old gas or water in the gas can stop the engine from firing.
Bad or fouled spark plugs, could be caused by bad gas.
Ignition wiring problems, can cause weak or unreliable spark.
Bad, poorly connected or misconnected spark plug wires. Even 2 wire out of order can stop the engine from firing.
Oily spark plug wires, can cause the spark to fire at the wrong cylinder or misfire.
Worn, damaged or wet ignition components.

Whats the correct way 2 perform a compression test on a chevy v8 small block

FIRST OF ALL YOU NEED TO RUN ENGINE FEW MINUTES DONT GET IT TOO HOT. TURN OFF ENGINE. THEN PUT ON SAFETY GLASSES. USE COMPRESS AIR BLOW DEBRI AWAY FROM SPARKS PLUGS.TO KEEP FROM GETTING INTO CYLINDERS.DISABLE YOUR SPARK IGNITION.AND DISABLE FUEL PUMP.BY REMOVING FUSE.NUMBER AND TAG SPARK PLUG WIRES.REMOVE ALL PLUG WIRES AND SPARK PLUGS.BESURE YOU NUMBER THEM AND TAG THEM SO THEY GO BACK IN THE ORIGINAL PLACE.THEN GET COMPRESSION GAUGE TESTER SCREW IT IN SPARK PLUG HOLE TO CYLINDER 1 FIRST.TAKE YOUR FOOT PRESS ACCELERATOR PEDAL TO FLOOR.PUT KEY IN IGNITION SWITCH CRANK ENGINE AROUND A FIVE TURNS.THEN CHECK COMPRESSION ON GAUGE.IT SHOULD BE NO LOWER THAN 100 PSI.IF SO SQUIRT SOME OIL IN THAT CYLINDER. IF COMPRESSION INCREASES.THAT CYLINDER HAS BAD RINGS IF OIL SQUIRT DONT INCREASE COMPRESSION. VALVES IS LEAKING. YOU DO ALL CYLINDER THE SAME.SCREW COMPRESSION IN PLUG HOLES.TURN ENGINE OVER 5 ROUNDS. WRITE DOWN ALL READINGS.
