2005 chrysler Town&Country clicks when attempting to start

One you insert the key turn to on the clicking noise commences. I tried to jump stary it and it cranked last night. I turned if back off after driving around the block and it cranked again several times. The next morning (after putting the battery on a slow charge overnight) The same clicking noise resumed when I turned the ignition to on only this time it would not start after several tries. Please help?

If the click is one click then that points to the starter. Make sure the battery connections are tight. If it clicks like a machine gun then it is either the battery or a bad connection. Good battery voltage is 12.6 or more and 13.6 when running. I don't know tour skill level of electricity.

My town and country's electrical system is goin haywire. the rpm and spd meter move by themselves with out even turning on the van. the key is inserted and turned enough to start the radio... and when i...

My advice would be to change the battery. The electronics in modern vehicles are very sensitive to voltage fluctuations and will act very oddly at the first hint of a charging system issue. Coupled with the clicking when trying to start, it seems very likely that your battery is bad.

Good luck.

My 2005 chrysler town and country wont start. it just makes a clicking noise as the gauge needles max out before returning to zero, the dash lights and radio still come on. what could be the problem?

it mite sound weird but your alternator mite be the prob like the diode on it can be out and it will make your car not start that is why your gauge jump like that so next time your gauge's jump as you try to start it but it just clicks it mite be the alt. hope this will help people out there.

Sounds like you need a starter, or you have a loose wire somewhere under the hood.
