Question about 2008 Ford Fusion

1 Answer

This is in regards to a problem I am having with my 2008 Ford Fusion. Every time there is a heavy rain water pools in the back seat floor board on both sides. I have taken it to the dealership where I bought it and they cant find the problem. I have driven through some deep puddles when there has been heavy rain. The dealership tells me the door seals are all fine. Also, one time I stopped and got out of my car the day after a heavy rain. When I stopped there was water pooring out of the bottom of my car directly in the middle from a silver section.

Sounds like the windshield is leaking. Run water over the windshield and have someone get inside car and look for the leak. Alternatively take it to a reputable windshield repair shop and have them check it.

you might want to peel the carpet back and check for hole in the floor board. this is not something you can see just by crawling under to look at. Light has to pass through. Carpet pulls up easy from under the pedals, remove thebottom of the door jam like four screws and then you will know for sure.

Water leaking into KH laser Hatchback

It could be coming in through the rear door as the rubber might not be sealing properly the easiest way to find the leak is to remove your seats and carpet sit inside get someone to squirt the car round the doors and windscreen air vents.

Water in floorboard

Either the sealant that was used in putting your windshield in has began to fail, or there may be a larger opening under the vents, or on the firewall in the engine compartment. Look under the vent slats/holes under the windshield wipers. Look in the bulkhead that separates the engine from the dashboard(With the hood up). Those are the only ways water is getting in. Seal it with an expanding style sealer
