2006 Pontiac montana SV6 power sliding door sensor will not acknowledge door is closed and 'ding ding ding' is now heard in my sleep!!! I've had this to three different Pontiac dealers and nothing seems to fix the problem. I've had the sensors replaced, motor services, comp chip 'reset' numerous times, the sensors cleaned repeatedly, etc,,,

I have a 2006 SV6 with the power sliding doors. The problem that I found was with the contacts on the door ( They are called plungers) the movable pins were losing connection with the fixed part The plunger is very easy to replace if you can find one. The plungers are covered with a rubber cover and is held in place with 2 plastic pins. My Pontiac dealer could not even find one in his books or even a picture of one, and claimed that he had never had anyone come with a door problem. My Chevy dealer said that it came with a wiring harness that is not needed for $154. The cure that I came up with was to take the plunger block apart (it snaps together)and replace the rusted out springs then solder 3" wires to the end of the plunger pins (they solder easy) to the tabs that go to the plug(pop out the tabs or you will melt the plastic. It took about 45 min. now the doors work like new and will never loose contact again

I removed the plunger block as well. When you flip it over and push in one of the plungers, you can see the connections that it makes. I found that inside each hole there are 2 "tabs" that needed to be slightly bent back toward the middle. The pins were not making good connection with these tabs prior to taking it apart. This seems to have worked although I will wait for a couple of really cold days to see if it acts up. So far though it has not acted up.

Follow up 4/16/14 - still working great. We have went through many freezing cold days, snow storms, and rain storms. The door has not acted up.

How do I adjust the drivers door on a 2006 pontiac montana SV6 air is leaking around the door.

Take the fender off. then loosen the door hinge bolts. Move the door left or right up or down in or out until the crack between the door and the pillar looks straight and even. Then do the same with the fender. Chances are the door hinges need replacing.

2005 pontiac sv6 door alarm chimes all the time. how can I disable or bypass the chime?

On my '07 Montana SV6 was the same problem, I've fix it by moving up to 3 mm. contact plate at the body frame of the rihgt sliding door. If you check the spots on the plate where pins from the door comes to this plate, you will see that they contacting not in a middle. There are two ways to fix: move down pin unit in the door or move up contact plate on frame. For me second way was better. It's manufacture mistake comes sinse 2005 and on right door only.

The passenger side auto sliding door will not shut... it almost closes then opens a little. Dinger dings indicating that the door is open even when it is manually shut and override switch is on. No message...

this is a common issue with these. The door for some reason goes out of alignment and you will have to either adjust the striker or the door track or take it somewhere and have them do it.Its better to have someone else do it so they have to fix it right if they want paid..

2005 Pontiac SV6 Montana key fob unlocks doors but will not lock

For the sliding doors you need to clean the contacts, there are 6 or 8 on both sides, just wipe them clean as they are probably covered in oil/grease/grime.
