Open the trunk, pull back the carpet, and its under a small door, about 10 inches by 18 inches. Take off the 4 screws 7/32 i belive, and you will have access to the fuel pump. Remove the hose clamp with a standard screw driver or a socket nut driver. It will pop up, unhook hoses, and power. Make sure to pull straight up or it will bind and get stuck. Also, be careful as it will be full of fuel and you WILL spill it.

Its an electric and its in the fuel tank. My niece has the Chrysler Concord, its basically the same car.My niece told me the car was cutting off and hard to start and finally it did not start and came to my house on a tow truck. AAA is really nice for about $90.00 bucks a year. I bought the book for hers and it told me when the key is in the run position you should be able to here the wrrrr noise of the pump for a couple of seconds. Its pumping up the fuel pressure before the start. This is of course if you dont start or try to start the car, that would make to much noise to hear the pump.I ended up takeing all the junk out of her trunk and putting it in the back seat to help hear the pump.I got in the trunk and in the back of the trunk on the floor was a cover plate.I put my ear at the cover plate while some one else turned the key to run and I did not hear anything.I bought a new pump, took the cover plate off to see the top of the tank, took off the hoses and wires ( being careful to remember how to put them back where they came from) took the semi tricky tank cover clamp off. Now if you do this job have a couple of old thick towels and maybe even a roll of paper towels ready. First buy the new one and take a good look at it.The one I bought came with a new sending unit on it and its float arm hanges off the side. When I tipped the old one over coming out, alot off fuel ran out of it.Try to keep it straight up as much as possible, it seems to help. Also it would help to have a old pan or some thing to catch the fuel as you move the pump over your trunk so you dont get the trunk carpet wet with the gas.
After I put this back together the car started but ran bad (missing a cylinder) I ended up replaceing the coil pack (very easy but a strange coincidence) I did hear the wrrrr with the new pump.Thats it.
I hope this info helps you.

You really need to have a fuel injection pressure test to test the fuel pump pressure. Guessing at this can be expensive and labor intensive. Fuel pump is located in gas tank! Your local parts house my have a pressure tester you can use to see if it is correct.

The fuel pump is located on top and inside the fuel tank. A failing fuel pump sometimes will just fail and the vehicle will not run. Other times it will be weak and the vehicle will be hard to start or stall. First thing to do is replace the fuel filter. A fuel pressure test will verify if the pump is failing or failed.

Engine stalls at 50mph or when low on fuel

when low on fuel and the you drive and you turn car , side gravity forces force the fuel from the pump sock pickup sock and the fuel pump stalls, read the op. guide it tells you not do that.
the pump is fuel cooled, an fuel lubricated and starving it is a bad ACT.
so say what is going on at 50mph, going up or down a hill with 1/8th tank of fuel?

my jeep stalls in fast turns at 1/4 full (1991) slosh effect.
i slow down and bingo, it runs. did so new, and so did others..

gravity (and inertia) are our friends, but not always.
see space movie called Gravity. friend and foe.

Will a fuel pump driver module on a 2002 ford taurus v6 dohc make the vehicle act like the fuel pump is going out?

This could indeed be the fault. If the vehicle does not restart after this issue occurs, then disconnect the fuel line and test for pressure. If low, then replace the fuel module and/or pump.

Car will run fine for days then will start to act like its losing pressure was told fuel pump was going bad its a 1998 ford escort se

when they get hot (fuel pump) they lose pressure as they get older-fuel keeps the pump cool, so within reason, having a 1/2 tank or better should help unless it is past the point of usefullness-you are going to have to replace the pump, sooner better an later or it will leave you stranded.

Check your fuel pump fuse or relay. It could be a clogged fuel filter or you fuel pump may be going bad.

1999 f-150 will turn over, but won't start

First thing to check is the fuel reset. This will be located on the passenger kick panel. Check fuses and relay for the fuel pump. Worst case scenario, it is your fuel pump which is located in the fuel tank.
